A collaboration with the Fabulous Brodie’s Beers of London, in true Brodie’s style we brewed a fruity twist on a modern classic. An all pale malt body and balanced bitterness creates the background to let the fruit shine. We added loads of richly sweet mango’s in the boil and again in fermentation to accentuate the tropical fruity character of the Citra hops added in the hop back and in conditioning. Deeply fruity yet deliciously crisp and satisfying, all hail The Great Alphonso! Malts - Golden Promise. Hops - Cascade, Citra, Magnum.

“Double IPA is a style we were excited to brew – it’s a further exploration beyond the Belgian-styles we are known for historically,” said Phil Leinhart, Brewmaster for Brewery Ommegang. “Nirvana received such a great reaction, of course we wanted to see if we could take that to another level. And I’m really excited we are sharing this beer nationally – unlike Nirvana which we restrict to our heartland, fans everywhere can enjoy Great Beyond and tell us what they think.” Great Beyond pours a hazy light copper color with a thick white head. The aroma is intensely fruity thanks to massive hop editions; notes of mango, pineapple, and apricot dominate the nose, with underlying hints of sweet citrus. The flavor is full of juicy, fruity hop character with resinous pine undertones. The body is pleasantly full with a silky mouthfeel and big balanced bitterness. The finish lingers, finally resolving to a pleasant hop presence. Great Beyond is 8.8% ABV and 83 IBUs, a true palate-wrecker.

An Imperial Chocolate Stout brewed with cocoa nibs to commemorate the day, in 1955, that a freight train carrying a load of chocolate derailed from the Ontario & Western Railroad in Hamilton just yards from our brewery.

South City or Southern England…what’s the diff? Regardless of your geographical persuasion, you’re gonna love this Brown Ale. Rich toffee-like sweetness with a nice round bready mouthfeel. Reminiscent of chocolate, molasses, toasted almonds, ripe red berries, dried plums, orange zest, coffee and cream. Medium body and carbonation, with an everlasting dark malty aftertaste. Pour over your Weetabix cereal. Be civil and carry on. UPDATE: This beer is currently being re-named and we are waiting on Federal and then State Approval. It is being re-named in honor of the Great Brian Hencel.

Chocked full with an all-star blend of 6 legendary hops with a malty backbone to hold it all together, this grain bill is stacked like the ’93 Western Conference Champions led by The Great One himself.

New England’s first and CBC’s highly sought after seasonal beer, The Great Pumpkin Ale, is back in bottles and on draft! We are very proud to be brewing with locally-grown sugar pumpkins from our friends at Lazy Acres Farm in Hadley, The Farm School in Athol, and Wilson Farms in Lexington. Promoting and supporting local, organic and sustainable farming is as important to us at CBC as promoting local, seasonal beer and cuisine.

Each year our Pumpkin Ale gets rave reviews. Somewhat spicy, very smooth and flavorful like a pumpkin pie, yet you can still tell you are drinking a beer!

Rich, dark malt complexity casts long shadows over a sea of apples in 2015’s third Fulton & Wood release, The Great Road. Born from a mysterious and spicy blend of traditional Dunkelweiss and apple cider pressed by our partners at Seedling Farms, The Great Road is a unique style of beer that some know as an ‘Apple Graf.’ This Dunkel-Cider Blend signals the start of our journey to Autumn.

In the most worthy of pumpkin patches and during the silence of the midnight hour, the Greater Pumpkin raises up and pours a rich deep and burnished orange color. Heady aromas of bourbon, cinnamon, ginger, allspice and clove linger seductively over the thick white head of this tremendous brew. Its love at first sip as the full malt body, dominated by British crystal malt, brown sugar and pumpkin, slowly washes over your tongue. Bourbon barrel aging rounds out the flavors with notes of oak, vanilla, and bourbon. Pairs well with crisp autumn weather, crunchy fallen leaves, and the knowledge that your kids will be asleep soon so you can raid their Halloween candy bags.

We all have a Grotto – a hidden wonderland where we retreat in selfish self-discovery to reflect and bask in life’s simpler pleasures. Here’s a beer for that private indulgent experience. The Grotto IPA boasts juicy flavors and aromas straight out of a tropical paradise – fruity American hops complement a smooth, light body.

The stars of our canning line are Dave and Matt, two dedicated dudes who lovingly coax our beer into the 12oz vessels you find around town. They're dedicated not only to our beer, but apparently each other, since they work the same hours all the time. It's so common to see those two busting it out in the back of the brewery that Bill, our Packaging Manager, has dubbed them "The Gruesome Twosome." This Imperial Dunkelweizen was brewed in their honor. Next time you crack open a Holy City can, give a toast to teamwork!

Imperial IPA

The Hallbitter is our other original cider. Halbbitter is German for “semi-sweet”. This cider is most popular with those new to cider drinking or who enjoy a sweet lingering aftertaste.

Hangings were frequent in the early days of Sydney Town. The first gaol on George Street, now the Four Seasons Hotel, was the site of hundreds of hangings. The hill above (where Harts Pub is situated) was referred to as Gallows Hill, where locals would gather to watch the hangman work. Alexander Green, a convict in his own right, was appointed to the position of public executioner in 1828 and during 27 years hung over 490 people, including 6 women. He was instantly recognisable, having a livid scar down the side of his face – the result of an axe attack by a prisoner. In early May 1855 he was committed to a lunatic asylum for the remainder of his life.

480 Willapa Bay oysters smooths out the roast profile of this Irish Dry Stout for a truly sublime drinking experience. This beer is an Agrarian Ales and Corvallis Brewing Supply collaboration with oysters from Harry and Annette's Fish Market.
