The Lytton Cask

The Lytton Cask is difficult to define. This Cask found its origins in one of our winter seasonal ales and was so well received we moved it into regular production. Roughly describable as the black-sheep child of a robust porter and a foreign extra stout, The Lytton Cask is a complex ale with an intriguing depth of flavor, but remains an easy drinking pint. The Lytton Cask won a Bronze medal at the 2010 U.S. Open Beer Championship in the Porter category.

Sit back and enjoy this regal beer, just be careful, you may want to chase down a dream or two after a glass.

The Maharaja

Maharaja is derived from the sanskrit words mahat, meaning “great”, and rajan, meaning “king”. Much like its namesake, this imperial IPA is regal, intense and mighty. With hops and malts as his servants, he rules both with a heavy hand. The Maharaja flaunts his authority over a deranged amount of hops: tangy, vibrant and pungent along with an insane amount of malted barley – fashioning a dark amber hue and exquisite malt essence. Welcome to his kingdom! The Maharaja is the second installment in our Dictator Series.

The McClelland

The 2nd beer in our series of fine McClelland Scotch-Irish Ales; this malty Wee Heavy brew went through a long boil in the kettle to allow the wort to caramelize. The end result is a deep copper to brown colored brew, with a malty caramel and roasted malt flavor that is a bit sweeter, fuller-bodied, and has a higher ABV than Scottish Ales (See our "Scotch'dale - Scottish Ale"). It's so good, we decided to call it by our last name... "The McClelland"! Try the original Scotch Ale from the old country.

The Mitten

When the leaves fall, there’s a chill in the air and the evening greedily takes hours from daylight, we stand strong and embrace the wintertime. It’s a time of rich foods, roaring fires and our favorite sweaters. Drinks change from refreshing to intense and satisfying. The Mitten is a Winter cider, a blend of last seasons best, aged in bourbon barrels, with the new season’s fresh pressed apple juice. Straight cider, aged for 3 seasons, finds notes of vanilla, caramel and charred American oak, balanced with the best of the orchard, over-ripe apples and their sweet, tart, earthy juice. Many barrels are filled, but only a small portion, the very smoothest, will find their way into The Mitten. We love wintertime, especially when we have The Mitten to keep us warm and happy through the long, cold night.

Our American Corn Lager (AKA Pale Lager) is brewed with Massachusetts corn, all American malt, and US lager hop varieties. The hops are the star - Santiam and Crystal provide nice flavor and big aromatics.
