An American Strong Ale, brewed with a super-high gravity distiller’s yeast! Made by Sixpoint brewer Sean Redmond. Not for the faint of heart—even the second runnings of this beer were strong enough to be a Pale Ale!

The Kaiser once said, “Give me a woman who loves beer and I will conquer the world.” If the Kaiser and his significant other had tipped this bottle, we’d all be “sprechenden Deutsch!” We took all that is good in a traditional Oktoberfest – gorgeous, deep copper sheen, massive malty backbone and spicy, floral, pungent noble hops – then intensified each into this, an Imperial Oktoberfest. The Kaiser is the third installment in our Dictator Series.

A lightly roasted porter fermented with sweet cherries and late addition of tart, black cherries. The result is semisweet and slightly tart perfectly dark porter with loads of complexity and depth.

Kindest Find, our own little slice of heaven, is an Imperial Red Ale with a big malt backbone layered with loads of juicy hops. Its label is a nod to our flagship Finestkind IPA. And just like the winsome lass on the label, Kindest Find will always be there to welcome you home after a long day.

A beer with the guts to stand on it’s own – no category needed

Flaked oats, English barley, roasted and chocolate malts make this stout full and robust. We added oak smoked wheat for a subtle hint of wood. Strong in character we balanced the malt with Perle hops. The KNUCKLE cracks you on the jaw and leaves you grinning.

“The Kölsch” pairs the finest ingredients with traditional brewing techniques and our own Dirtbag spin to bring to life and body to a refreshing, citrus infused masterpiece. The Kölsch starts with a pronounced citrus note provided by blood oranges that finishes with a hint of raspberry. A perfect balance of hops and malt that is assertive, but not overpowering, great for enjoying by itself or with a meal.

West-coast style IPA. Assertive and hop forward. Bright, piney and resinous with a dry finish. Hopped with Simcoe, Citra, Columbus and Calypso. Slightly earthy and spicy underlying malt profile from the addition of rye.

Springtime invites some adventurous fun. The Lark Maibock is a festive lager brewed to celebrate the spring season. German Pilsner and Munich malts mingle to create a malty rich, yet smooth and balanced brew. Gold Medal winner in the 2015 North American Beer Awards in the category Helles Bock/Maibock

A tribute to the historic beer achievement of “ze Germans.” An unfiltered, hazy quaff, heavy on the malted wheat and medium bodied. What would a hefeweizen be without the perennial characteristics of clove and banana? Prost!

Another version of NIP's well known Double Rice IPA. This rendition loaded up on Amarillo hops, raised the bittering units, and increased the ABV to give you a well balanced full flavor brew to keep your IPA interest satisfied through the winter months. Accentuated with tropical tones of apricot, citrus, and mango the alcohol is very well hidden giving way to a clean and crisp finish. And as always I'll now finish with a stupid ass pun that will feature a cameo of the name of the beer: If you drink enough of these the beer will certainly have The Last Word. Enjoy Folks.

Liberator was made as a 30th birthday gift to Joe Short. As a double IPA, this beast employs a sizable malt bill, but it is the crazy amount of hops added to the boil every 4 minutes, for 120 minutes, that really make this beer special. Fruity, floral, and piney hop flavors penetrate throughout the caramelized malt profile. Liberator is a well-balanced, full bodied brew that has a bitter finish due to the post fermentation addition of lemon and orange zest. The original batch brewed on the Bellaire system had 42lbs of hops in it, compared to Huma, which has around 20lbs of hops per batch. Today’s Elk Rapids batches have up to 138lbs of hops. The name, Liberator, came from Joe’s name for the Short’s employees who carry out our company’s mission statement as “Beer Liberators”, freeing the masses from their misconceptions surrounding beer.

Our Holiday offering which is a careful blending of Maple and Pecans, which evokes great times with the family around an open fire.

Brewed to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Ann Arbor’s own WCBN, this English pale ale is brewed with American smoked malt and English hops which work in harmony to throw a unique twist on the classic style. Subtle, almost sweet, smokiness and sharp bitterness make this brew a beer drinker’s favorite while it still remains accessible to everyone aboard The Listenership.

Traditionally brewed by German monks to sustain themselves during Lent while they were fasting, This dark, rich, and malty beer has a hint of hops and a warming alcohol finish. Also available barrel aged.
