Our Pale Ale is a beer made for the mountain, river, trail or even the local pub. We chose peach because, believe it or not, peaches can thrive in Arizona and the flavor is very compatible with beer. Our peach ale has a subtle sweet flavor and aroma, while maintaining a light body and color.

It all began with a couple of guys drinking beer. That can surely be said for a lot of things. But it’s only fitting that after a few pints, Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout, Flying Dog Brewery’s latest limited-edition brew, was born. A dry stout brewed with local oysters, Pearl Necklace was the brainchild of Flying Dog, Rappahannock River Oysters, and Baltimore’s Woodberry Kitchen. “Both Rappahannock and Woodberry were great partners in educating us on the oyster issues facing the Chesapeake Bay,” our Brewmaster Matt Brophy told us. “When we became fully aware of how crucial oysters are to the Bay’s fragile ecosystem, we knew we needed to do more than just brew a beer.” Proceeds from Pearl Necklace will benefit the Oyster Recovery Partnership, which coordinates and conducts large-scale oyster restoration efforts in the Chesapeake Bay. Both Woodberry Kitchen and Rappahannock River Oysters work closely with the Partnership on shell recycling programs and more.

This full-bodied imperial stout pours an opaque mahogany color with a tan head. Its smell is dominated by notes of roasted coffee beans, with a slight hint of chocolate, but Simcoe and Fuggles hops add complexity to the aroma. The roasted barley is detectable in the taste, and this complements the bitterness from the Warrior hops—balancing out the sweetness from the load of malts used in brewing Peg Leg. A creamy mouthfeel makes this a smooth, utterly drinkable beer.

Our robust porter pours near-opaque black with ruby hues and a light tan head. Mild, citrus notes exist throughout, thanks to a liberal addition of Cascade hops. Modest carbonation delivers roasty coffee notes backed by caramelized sugar with a pleasant bitterness, although never astringent. Despite its dark, rich appearance, expect a surprisingly refreshing beer that sticks around just long enough after it finishes.
