In the land of IPAs, the Woodlawn Pale Ale holds its own. While it’s a gentle beer, it’s full of flavor. That you can drink this all night long and wake up the next day without regret is a sheer boon. We crafted this brew as a tribute to the neighborhood where Breakside began – the Woodlawn Triangle. Inhabited by a motley crew of Portland hipsters, anarchists, and old timers, we’ve made a balanced and hop forward Pale Ale featuring the unlikely flavors of Newport hops. Throw one back and savor that Woodlawn taste. In the land of IPAs, the Woodlawn Pale Ale holds its own.

Woodmaster is a high gravity, American Brown Ale fermented with Northern Michigan maple syrup and toasted pecans. This dark brown, full bodied ale is rich with sweet malt and syrup flavors. These flavors are complemented by the presence of hop aromas and a faint nuttiness. The very first batch of Woodmaster was brewed in Bellaire on March 20, 2007. It was the 289th batch of beer brewed at Shorts, and is one of the original beers from the Short’s Imperial Beer Series (#7 of 13 to be exact).

Before Ypsilanti , the town was called Woodruff’s Grove and porter was the most popular beer in the world. Our Woodruff’s Porter hearkens back to the time when coppers were fired with flavorful smoky hardwoods and honey was a commonly added treat. Seven different malts, led by traditional Maris Otter, combine with Fuggle and East Kent Golding hops to bring you a taste of the ale that was brewed 150 years ago.

Woodside Tripel is bright, crisp Belgian-style Tripel brewed with local Woodside Urban Honey from Maplewood, Missouri.

A combination of three different caramel malts balance this mildly hoppy amber ale. Dry hopped with Chinook, Cascade, Amarillo, and CTZ

George Washington's true American molasses porter.

Brewed with Jeff Crabtree’s homegrown Zeus, Fuggle, Cascade, Nugget & Centennial hops. Aromatic, and well-balanced barley wine ale aged Pinot Noir barrels for a year. Only 585 750 ML bottles were corked and caged.

We love our town. We love the people, the land, and even the funky “je ne sais quoi” that is Leavenworth. So why not take one of our favorite funky winter seasonals (Snowbockalypse), age it in local wine barrels for a few months and see what we get? The result? Woody Goomsbock, a deep brown lager with sublte oak, raisin, and caramel undertones. It’s a beer with a slight warming sensation at the finish and of course a certain “je ne sais bock”.

American style wheat with a twist. Hints of orange peel and gracious amounts of vanilla will hit both the nose and palate. Medium body and light in color, a session for the whole year. A hybrid wheat, a mix of hefeweizen and wheat cream ale.

Woody's Wheat is a classic hefe-weizen, lightly hopped, with a smooth finish and clove and banana overtones.

Dark American-Belgo Ales are brown to black. Chill haze may be evident. Fruity-ester aroma is medium to high. Hop aroma is medium to very high, exhibiting American type hop aromas not usually found in traditional Belgian styles. Perception of roasted malts or barley will be subtle to robust. Hop flavor is medium to very high. Hop bitterness is medium to very high.

Dressed to get pressed at the fest, El Dank took one whiff of his stash of Simcoe, Mosaic and Waimea hops and dove straight in. Feeling no pain with lots to gain, El D saddled up next to a big bodied mahogany/red beauty of an ale looking to mingle a blast of his stash of tropical citrus aromas with her big bodacious sweet maltified booty. Overindulging as always, Danko peaked at 7.6% ABV, causing him to spin with the spinners ’til he spun out and was left face up in the field. Eyes open but case closed.

Semi-Sweet Cider with Black Currant, Orange Peel, and Spices.

Our English brown ale. A mild bodied beer that is dark in color, while at the same time full of flavor. A wonderfully drinkable beer, with slight toffee, nutty and caramel flavors. Let the honey-like malt flavor lure you in!

This specialty IPA used a blend of roasted and dark malts to achieve a very dark stout-like color while using floral and citrus hops to create the aroma of an IPA.

Scotch Ale made with Special B and Biscuit malts. 8.5 percents of sweet malt heaven.

Dark caramel malts give this ale hints of chocolate while a special strain of Belgian yeast adds a spicy aroma to this warm satisfying ale.
