Oronoko Cocoa Stout

Dark opaque body with garnet highlights. Pours creamy with a light tan head. Draught is served on nitrogen. Bottle carbonation is moderately low. Creamy mouthfeel from the nitrogen. Reminiscent of lightly roasted coffee finishes with a definitive gourmet chocolate flavor. Bittersweet chocolate and pure chocolate liquor from Peter’s Chocolate Company are melted directly into the beer. Lactose sugar is added after the boil to impart the signature creaminess of a sweet stout. The gases used in packaging create subtle differences in flavor and mouthfeel.

Owd Macs Imperial Stout

This very special beer was brewed as a Double Strength Imperial Stout. Imperial Stouts being very big beers to begin with, that puts this at the strength of a barleywine. The Original Gravity is 27.5 P/1118, then the hopping level is very hard to define, though there are enough hops to achieve 100 IBUs in a smaller beer, this beer still has a distinct sweetness due to a high percentage of unfermentable sugars. After fermentation, this beer was aged in old whiskey barrels from the McCormack’s bottling plant in Weston, MO, hence the name Owd Mac’s (owd being a British regional colloquialism for old).

Patio Pils

Patio Pils is a pre-prohibition recipe lager with a modern twist. We improve on the traditional recipe made popular by German immigrants to the US during the mid 1800’s, by replacing six-row barley and cluster hops with premium two-row pilsner malt and noble hop varietals. These improvements yield a lager which expertly balances malt sweetness with hop bitterness. As in the classic pre-prohibition recipes we add flaked maize, which imparts delightful fresh corn notes.
