Nothing makes us think of Spring more than the fresh green shoots coming up in the mint patch and it is that glorious event that we commemorate with the Mikado. We bring whole green tea leaves and fresh mint together with our mead for a beverage as perennially refreshing as the season.

You see we’re putting this bottle out in the market, so if you could just go ahead and buy one, that would be great. Mmkay? Even Michael Bolton would be a fan of this Agave Mead with lime juice, lime zest and orange zest!

This mead is flavored with loads of spearmint, it is very minty with subtle tea notes.

För 651 år sedan invaderade Valdemar Atterdag Gotland, och ett avgörande slag mellan gutar och danskar streds vid Ajmunds Bro. Under sommaren 2011 har bin samlat in honung från exakt det här området, vilken domineras av nektar från raps och blåklint, men med inslag från en massa olika växter. Honungen samlades in sommaren 2011, och direkt efter det började vi jäsa mjödet på den nyslungade honungen. En minnessten finns redan upprättad vid platsen för att hedra dem som föll i slaget, och nu finns även ett hedersmjöd med honung från området kring bron 650 år efter striden.

Carl Georg Lie har sin mycket stora biodling i de inre delarna av Kullahalvön, precis mittemellan Höganäs, Helsingborg och Ängelholm. Han väntade väldigt länge med att slunga 2010 års skörd, vilket gjordes strax innan jässtarten i mars. Det stora draget till honungen kom 2010 från vitklöver och vicker. Mjödet verkar ha fått relativt tydliga kryddiga toner, vilka möjligtvis har sitt ursprung från vickern. Mjödet har visat sig vara ett utmärkt matmjöd, och fruktighet i maten, verkar ge mjödet ett gigantiskt lyft.

A missprint on the label and possible missing sticker has created a confusion that "Vintersol" has existed as a 13.2% ABV version, the mead has ever only been produced as a 9.8% ABV one.

Our experiments at Anchor, however, revealed that a carefully considered blend of our own ales, aged in-house in our own ex-Old Potrero handmade oak barrels, results in a unique, complex, and delightfully new tradition: Our Barrel Ale.
