The result of an epic and torturous 22 hour-long brewday (and night), Batch 1 is a hybrid, single hopped pale ale. As the name suggests, it was the first batch of beer brewed at Westbrook Brewing. An American-ish grain bill was hopped with Amarillo and split into two fermentors: one got an English ale yeast; the other was fermented with our Belgian ale yeast. After fermentation, the two batches were blended back together and dry-hopped with more Amarillo. The fruitiness of the English and Belgian strains is harmoniously accented by the intense apricot aroma of the Amarillo hop. Enjoy this very deliciously drinkable ale while you can, you may never see it again!

The last of a series, Batch 10,000 Ale looks back to our roots, symbolizing the end of the home-brewing season with a creative take on "cleaning out the brewing supplies closet". After combing through the catalogs of many malt and hop suppliers, our brewers used over 100 different malts, grains, and other fermentables, and followed them up with a blend of 60 different hop varietals between the kettle additions and dry-hopping. The resulting beer presents a deep, chocolate brown hue and offers roasted and caramel notes from the malts mixed with an assertive hop character. Sharply bitter, the beer possesses a full mouthfeel without being heavy and will withstand aging in your cellar, if you prefer.

Generous amounts of crystal malts and dark roasted malts are used to create a rich and velvety mouthfeel layered with notes of dark chocolate. Pours with a thick and creamy head.

FACTION BATCH 100 BROWN ALE

The Batch 1000 has a strong citrus and pine aroma from the use of Cascade and Summit hops, while the hop flavor is impressive, it is backed up by a full body of maltiness from the increased amount of malt used. This increased volume of malt also increases the strength of the craft beer to around 7.5%-7.8% a.b.v.

Batch 8,000 is part of our commemorative series celebrating our progress with special brews. Our 8,000th batch is a special recipe to be brewed only once. It is wheat ale spiced with Coriander, Orange Peel, and Paradise Seed. Best consumed fresh.
