When do blondes have more fun? When they go blue! We brewed this light, creamy-blue ale with gobs of blueberries from the Blueberry Patch in Sawyer, MI. It’s not at all sweet, and the blueberry aroma grows more pronounced as the beer warms and opens up. A little fruit-tart, citrusy, and biscuity, it’s southwest Michigan summertime in a glass!

Blueberry Hard Cider

"I've got a blueberry for a daughter!" Summer time, you've met your match. Blueberry Cobbler ale is a copiously blueberried glass of goodness, generously dosed with real vanilla beans, quality imported cinnamon, and blueberries. It's purple, not because we add coloring, but because we use blueberries. Imagine that. A sip is akin to a bite of fresh baked blueberry pie, calling your name ever-so-gently as it cools on the window. Well, this time you can sneak a glass. Go ahead. We won't tell.

Reserve Series This experimental batch was released side-by-side with our much celebrated Raspberry Eisbock in 2013. Wild blueberries are added to this extremely big lager, which is then allowed to age further. Fresh, bright blueberry notes are a perfect complement to the sherry-like, almost chocolatey undertones of this massively intense lager beer. Despite the high alcohol content, this is a smooth, well-rounded, yet complex beer.

Although our Blueberry Mead recipe is very similar to the Traditional the 5% of blueberries added during primary fermentation completely transforms the flavor. Since we do not use any sulfites to stop fermentation, the blueberries ferment out all the way leaving behind no residual sugar, providing this mead with an ultra dry quality while still retaining the refreshing clean finish that always leaves you wanting more. Unlike the Traditional, the Blueberry Mead has an earthy bouquet and flower aromas from the pollen in the honey. We use honey provided by Garey Farms in Paris, Kentucky which varies depending on the blooms in the area. This wine is best chilled as well and goes really well with Brie and fruit and would be perfect for a picnic on a warm, sunny day.

Blueberry Jack is a psychedelic trip to flavor town. A hazy collaboration with our friends at Stillwater Artisanal Ales, it’s also the latest entry in their “Strains from Mother Nature” series. We blended together a blonde Brettanomyces-fermented ale aged in both oak barrels and foedres, then added California-grown blueberries and blackberries. After maturing, we dry-hopped the beer with reckless amounts of Citra, Mosaic, El Dorado, Simcoe, Galaxy, Nugget, and Sterling hops for a trippy, tropical-dank aroma.

Lambics have been made in Belgium for over 500 years, and we are honoring this tradition by brewing our own Indiana version. Upland lambics are fermented by wild yeast and aged in oak casks for over a year, which creates a tart, complex beer. We then add whole blueberries from Huber Orchard in Starlight, Indiana, giving the beer enticing aromas and flavors. The beer is bottle conditioned, which adds a zesty and refreshing carbonation. Upland lambic is the perfect drink to share with friends over a plate of good cheese and fresh fruit.
