Bonator

Liquid does not break fasting - fasting was the rule at the times of the Benedictine monks in Weissenohe. This we now owe the mirror carp than fast food and the strong Doppelbock as liquid food in this barren time. We have for you, in this tradition, our strong brewed Bonator as dark Doppelbock, physical and spiritual strengthening in the "Staaden" time. Double Bock, a dark, spicy and strong as is the tradition requires. Suitable for: goulash, Schäuferle, Krustenbraten, hearty snacks and powerful game dishes

Bone Dusters

Bone Dusters, a collaboration between beer and science! On our never ending quest for new yeast strains, we decided to collaborate with Paleo Quest and dust some protocetid whale fossils found in Virginia near the Dismal Swamp now on display in the Calvert Marine Museum. A wild yeast was found, having fruity and very unique characteristics. We decided to brew an amber ale with this yeast, balancing the personality of this organism with a nice maltiness. Bone Warmer

Bone Warmer Amber Ale, brewed in the “strong ale” tradition, is a beer of great character, with exceptional malt flavor and warming alcohol content. Historically, brewers often drew three different runs from the same barley mash. The first, used for strong ale or “best beer,” had the most flavor, color and fermentable sugars, and produced beer with the most alcohol. The second was used for a less strong “table beer,” and the third, a lighter and cheaper “small beer.” Our Bone Warmer is brewed the same way, using only the first runnings from an extraordinarily thick, strong mash of Idaho 2-Row Metcalfe and Harrington barley malt, along with dark German munich and caramel malts. We subtly spiced it with “noble” character American Perle and Mt. Hood hops, fermented it at cool temperatures and cold-conditioned it for smoothness and drinkability. The resulting ale is the color of roasting chestnuts, voluptuously malty, only slightly sweet, with a hint of toffee and a warming dry finish. It’s an ideal accompaniment to rich meaty stews, wild game, roasted fowl or root vegetables, and aged cheddars. Alcohol by volume 8.2%.

Bonnie Lee's Best Bitter

Bonnie lands in the middle of the narrow but complex spectrum of English-style bitters. In the Magnolia pantheon it has New Speedway Bitter beneath it (an ordinary bitter) and Blue Bell above it (an ESB, or extra special bitter). Best bitters pack a little more malt and hop punch than ordinary bitters but are still considered easy drinking, session beers. Carbon dioxide can disrupt some of the most subtle nuance of lower gravity bitters so this is a beer at its peak of flavor when served from a cask.
