Double Eagle Scotch Ale

The Story: Over the the hills surrounding the brewery, Golden and Bald Eagles are migrating to more favorable climes. We admire them for their unflappable poise and strength. The Golden Eagle is found across the North Hemisphere, and, in particular, the highlands of Scotland. The Golden Eagle has always been held in high regard by the Scots from before they were invaded by the English from the south. The Beer: The Double Eagle Scotch Ale celebrates the eagles and the Scots with big, bold flavors in a strong ale. Scotch Ales traditionally go through a long boil in the kettle for a caramelization of the wort. We re-created this process by reducing the first 15 gallons of the sweet wort down into a thick caramel. This produces a deep copper to brown in colored brew with ruby highlights.

Double Feature

Dubbel Feature “Belgian Style Dubbel” is the second of four beers in Terrapin’s Georgia Theatre Sessions. It is brewed with 100% Belgian Malts, an authentic Trappist yeast and Golding and Hersbrucker hops. This deep caramel colored brew has a delicate balance between sweet malt, estery yeast, a subtle bitterness and mellow alcoholic warmth. All the characteristics of a fine Trappist Ale. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Georgia Historic Trust for Historic Preservation Fund to rebuild the Georgia Theatre. To make things even more interesting, there is one Golden Ticket hidden among each of the Georgia Theatre Sessions brews. This means that four lucky winners will receive a lifetime pass to the new Theatre.

Double Fistin’ IPA

Double Fistin’ IPA is an imperial India pale ale fashioned after the Pacific Northwest’s heavily hopped, strong IPAs. Unique in the U.S., this style contains large amounts of Northwest hops imparting a bitter and flowery aromatic flavor. The hops used to create this hop-monster are Columbus and Cascade. In addition to heavy amounts of bittering and post-boil hops, this beer is also given a generous amount of dry- hops in the conditioning stage. The alcohol content is 7.2%. This beer is a signature beer of Rob Denton.

Our take on the Imperial IPA style. Huge hop additions late in the boil and in the fermenter provide intense hop flavor and aroma without harsh bitterness. Watch Out, it is very easy to drink despite the alcohol content.

Double Hop IPA

The Imperial IPA is a very new style, created by taking a regular IPA and amping it up a bit. It is a little lighter in color than a regular IPA, with a nice, vigorous golden hue. There is very little maltiness in this beer, although it has a moderate body. The hops are the stalwart backbone of the style. There is an incredible amount of hop flavor and bitterness, and a definite interplay of varieties and locales in the different types of hops. The dry finish is typical of an IPA, and the result is a big beer, with only a hint of maltiness and a lot of hop character.

Double Hull Nitro IPA

Double Hull, as the name suggests, is a design method where ships are constructed with a double layer of watertight hull surface. This construction helps reduce the risks of marine pollution in the event of a collision, going aground or other damage to the ship’s outer hull. Our Double Hull IPA is constructed with four varieties of West Coast hops, just the right amount of bitterness, and a tanker full of flavor! This classic double IPA is going to weather the stormiest of seas and leave you unscathed and very satisfied.

Double Indemnity Double IPA

A double indemnity clause in a contract or policy affords the covered party two times the value of the stated coverage in the result of a covered claim. It’s all in the details but nobody ever reads the entire contract anyway. That’s why getting what you deserve isn’t always easy, and getting twice what you expected is almost impossible. But we gave our lawyers the day off and while nobody was looking, we took the hops intended for two different batches and slipped them all into this IPA. Then, instead of burying the fact in some obscure clause in a contract somewhere, we’re bragging about it right here on the label. We were never fans of fine print anyway. The good news is you get twice the payout.

Double India Pale Ale

Our Double IPA is made with pale and light crystal malts. It is going to give the beer a deep pale color and malty flavor. It will also give it a very strong taste. It is hopped liberally with Apollo, Cascade, Chinook, and Centennial hops. This is going to give the beer a pleasant bitter taste and an intense hop flavor and aroma. The extra bitterness will mix with the strong sweet flavor from the malt to give the beer a very balanced taste. The result is a very bold and flavorful IPA.

Our Double IPA packs a strong punch and never loses the delicate characteristics of a traditional IPA. This brew pours a golden, chestnut brown and has a distinct, fruity hop aroma that compliments its lively and fresh flavor. Citrus and floral notes blend with a slight caramel maltiness. Double IPA

Propeller Double IPA is a full bodied, American style Double India Pale Ale that is brewed with premium Pacific Northwest hops and a rich blend of 2-row Pale and Crystal malts. Following fermentation it has been heavily dry hopped (a process that enhances the aroma without imparting bitterness in beer) giving this bold brew its big west coast nose. Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish that is balanced by sweet malt flavors. At 8.2% alcohol by volume and 85 IBUs, Propeller Double IPA is not for everyone… It is a TRUE hop bomb, for TRUE hopheads.

Double IPA

Every year, we anxiously await the sunny season when we unleash our abundantly hoppy AleSmith Double IPA. Originally known to hopheads around the nation as "AleSmith Summer YuleSmith," this Imperial India Pale Ale bursts forth with bright scents and flavors reminiscent of freshly picked oranges, grapefruits, and tangerines offset by undertones of pine resin and herbal spice. A sturdy malt backbone balances out profound hop bitterness for a refreshing yet assertive, decidedly West Coast beer offering an unapologetically bold expression of fresh American hops.
