Gr'Ale

Belgian monks have brewed many styles of special ales as long as beer has been around. These inspired ales are sometimes difficult to put into actual beer style categories. Our amber is special because it is fermented with a unique Belgian ale yeast. This ale has notes of sweet malt, dried fruit, a peppery aroma, with a slight hop bitterness.

Grain Belt Light

Local legends aren’t just born, they’re brewed. And no beer in the Midwest has a grander brewing tradition than Grain Belt. For over 100 years, Grain Belt has been the beer that fathers have passed on to sons and friends have passed amongst each other at local bars and watering holes. It is a beer with tradition that spans generations. Which is why it has become legendary–both here and across the country. In the 1940s, around the same time Grain Belt built its famous bottle cap sign overlooking the Mississippi River in Northeast Minneapolis, they introduced a “Beer of Exceptional Quality”–Premium. With its crisp, unique flavor, Premium quickly became the flagship of the Grain Belt brand. And still is to this day. Although the Grain Belt Premium recipe has changed hands over the years, one thing has remained the same–its legendary unique taste. And now that Premium is in the capable hands of a brewery with an even longer tradition than Grain Belt–the August Schell Brewery–may you rest assured that the flavor and heritage of Premium will live on forever. So as a local legendary beer, we raise a glass to all the people, places and things that make the Midwest such a rich and unique place to live. Here's to you!

Grain Belt Nordeast

Named after the hardworking neighborhood where the original Grain Belt Brewery established its roots back in 1893. ‘Nordeast’ is an endearing term which comes from the Northern and Eastern European immigrants and their language which helped shape Northeast Minneapolis. This amber American Lager is our way of honoring the storied past of Grain Belt and the people who helped to make it legendary! Cheers! Grain Belt Nordeast is an American Amber lager and is the newest member to the Grain Belt Family. It has a light maltiness and hop aroma with a mild bitterness. Smooth taste with an excellent drinkability.

Gramarye

Gramarye is the practice of learning magic. For thousands of years, people have used a grimoire (book of magic) to cast spells and summon spirits. Of course, magic fell out of favor over the centuries, the same as brewing with rye. Interest in magic seems to be on the upswing these days and so is the interest in brewing with rye. A coincidence? This is our take on a session pale ale made with a dose of rye malt to give it that luscious feel and snappy finish. We think it is magical.

Gran Met

Our Gran Met (Grand Master) is an Ale made from our Propriatery yeast from a small brewery in Belgium. We use Cane and Beet sugar, along with German Pilsner Malt to create the unique flavor of this age old style. We also use a unique fermentation process of slowly adding the sugars to the fermentation during fermentation. This allows the yeast to more slowly ferment the beer without overloading the yeast. This process allows for a more clean, tight flavor profile 10% alc by vol. Bottle Conditioned and Refermented.

Granát

Origin of name: This beer is named after its unique garnet red-brown color (darker than most dark beers). The color of Černá Hora Granát could lead its consumer to call it a "black beer". Taste: it is characterized by its fullness, sweetness and very dark color. A high proportion of Bavarian, caramel and coloring malt based on a longstanding recipe gives the beer its unmistakable caramel taste and markedly influences its bitterness. It is distinguishable by its good head and vigor.

Grand Cru

“Grand Cru” has been used by Belgian brewers for centuries to denote a more elaborate version of their original product. We continue this tradition with Celis Grand Cru, a heartier version of Celis White. Made with select hops, Celis Grand Cru is brewed with the bright flavors of lemon peel and mellow coriander, which give a robust finish to the classic wheat beer. Perfect for the cool fall and winter months, or when you want a beer slightly bolder in flavor—try pairing it with roasted meat or shellfish dishes.

Grandpa Tractor

Grandpa Tractor® is Barley Forge's Dortmunder Export, an almost forgotten style. This full-bodied, moderately hopped German lager was the favorite drink of coal miners and heavy industry workers of the first half of the 20th Century in Germany. Hoppier than a Helles and less hoppy than a Pils, our Dortmunder strikes a balance between the two with a hefty mouthfeel derived from Pilsen malt and higher alcohol content (around 5.0% abv). This refreshing beer goes well with the end of a hard day at work and pairs nicely with grilled steak, any type of pork dish, and any sort of Asian or Hispanic cuisine.

Great Crescent Blonde Ale

Great Crescent Blonde Ale is clear, slightly malty with medium hop aroma and relatively low bitterness and has a somewhat sweet, dry finish. Our Blonde Ale is based on a German Kolsch style beer using British Ale yeast for the fermentation. This beer was created as an easy-drinking, approachable, malt-oriented craft beer and the style is being produced by many American microbreweries. This style is usually designed as the entry-level craft beer, however Great Crescent Blonde Ale is well appreciated by people who are already familiar with and enjoy many other styles of craft beer.

The beer that was created to make the ocean voyage to India when it was a British Colony lives on today in many interpretations - all hoppy, some a lot more than others. Great Scot!

Kings Mountain marks our first debut into Scottish American history. From immortal Claymore wielding highlanders to a decorated list of Presidents, the Scots hold deep roots in our history. Kings Mountain is named after an overwhelming patriot victory in the Revolutionary war fought between forces of both Scot-Patriots and Scot-loyalists. A fitting name for a beer that holds an overwhelming malt filled flavor. Its robust grain bill of malted barley is at the forefront of its taste. Herbert Hoover once said of Kings Mountain, “This is a place of inspiring memories”, we hope that you feel the same as you enjoy our Scottish American Ale, Kings Mountain. Crisp and refreshing, it’s everything you could ever want from a Belgian-style white. It’s full-bodied, unfiltered, and goes down oh-so smooth.
