Our Half Dome is a zestfully refreshing wheat ale brewed with San Joaquin Valley grown lemon and orange peel to make a uniquely crafted unfiltered session beer. A blend of two distinctive wheat ales, along with local fruits and exotic spice gives our Half Dome the signature of an ideal California Wheat Ale.

A traditional style of a German Weissbier, with hints of bananas and cloves make this a favorite of Hefeweizen drinkers. Our Hefeweizen is unfiltered for the yeast cloudiness you expect from this style. This can be served with either an orange or lemon slice, but traditionally there is no reason to include the fruit.

What do you call a cross between a German Hefeweizen and Belgian Witbier? Maybe it should be Hefe-Wit, but we instead call it the Half-Wit. Traditional German Hefeweizen grain bill fermented with Belgian yeast; yielding nice and light almost banana notes from the wheat malts, but with a light citrusy and peppery note from the yeast. Not bitter, rather very smooth and drinkable!

A few miles north of downtown Sitka, you can beach comb and barbecue at the Halibut Point Recreation Site (locally known as "The Rec"). The park is named after the flat, weird-eyed monster that can grow to nine feet in length and weigh up to 500 pounds. It may be the strangest fish lurking in Alaskan waters, but it lures fisherman from all over the world. We hope our Hefeweisen can do the same. Already cosmopolitan with its German name (hefe meaning yeast) and brewed in the traditional manner (mostly wheat malt), the Hefe is a crowd pleaser.

A classic Northwest pale ale and McMenamins top selling beer. This rich chestnut colored gem is a model of harmony between hops and malted barley. Hammerhead's signature Cascade hop nose and intense hopped flavor blend nicely with the caramel tones from the crystal malt. This beer has a vocal following. To run out is an unforgivable sin.

This English-Style Summer Ale uses a touch of Colorado grown honey. The 2-Row and wheat malt provide a light pale color, while the noble hops provide low hop bitterness, flavor and aroma.

Intense aromas of clove and banana give way to a mouthwatering citrus flavor in this unique brew. German wheat and malt come together in a meticulous decoction mash to make a distinct and refreshing beer. A lifelong friend of Exile, Hannah is outspoken and independent, and the perfect embodiment of our Bavarian Wheat.

You might say, a great beer is man’s other best friend. So when we made this German-style pilsner, it just made sense to name it after the brewery’s dog, Hans — our owner’s German Shorthair Pointer. Inspired by the pilsner beers of Northern Germany, Hans is crisp, brightly hoppy and full of flavor. At 50 IBUs and featuring Tettnang hops, it’s even hoppier than many pale ales. The German malt helps create a nice pale golden color and provides the perfect companion to the hops.

This dry-hopped ale contains caramel and biscuit malt flavors in happy equilibrium with late addition American hops. The approachable balance is intentional although the name is a "hoppy" accident.

Green Tree Coffee used to be our neighbors, thankfully they are not far away now. We use their hand roasted coffee combined with the Wrecking Ball Baltic Porter to create this beer.

Not really a Blonde Ale, not a Pale Ale, not an IPA. Happy Hops is a light colored refreshing ale with a pronouced hop character. You may also see a special version of this beer once a year called Happy Hops Harvest, which is brewed with fresh "wet" hops grown locally.

This beer is based on the very first comercially brewed beer in the state of Indiana. The name of the brewer was George Bentel. His house is still standing in New Harmony. The Harmonist brewer and cooper, George Bentel, was born November 3, 1781 in Iptingen, the same village in the Swabian kingdom of Württemberg where George Rapp was born. Bentel lived at the northeast corner of Brewery and Grainery streets, where his house remains today, as upright as when Indiana's first brewer marched out to make his beer almost two centuries ago. The German utopian communalists in New Harmony were Indiana's first significant brewers. Beginning in 1816, the Harmonists eventually brewed enough to sell all the way up to what is now West Virginia and down into lower Illinois. From the historical record, it appears the Harmonists brewed a porter-like dark beer. It must have been pretty good beer: An educated German, Ferdinand Ernst, stopped in New Harmony during his journey through the frontier region. “They served me a stein of beer,” Ernst wrote, “and I was not a little astonished to find here a genuine, real Bamberg beer.” He gushed that the Harmonists “must be happiest people of entire Christiandom.” A Louisville agent for the Harmonists reported, “Mr. Breeden, the most celebrated porter seller in the place says the strongest part of it would almost pass for porter and is the best beer he has ever seen in this country…
