Madness IPA

Our version of the 'West Coast' IPA - the beer that sparked a revolution When Brett arrived from California he couldn’t believe there weren’t any of his beloved ‘West Coast’ IPAs readily available in the UK. This beer is his version of the style that sparked the craft beer revolution in the US. Among the orchards and pastures of the green and pleasant Somerset countryside you’ll find our unusual brewery. Our neighbours at Westcombe Dairy make one of the finest Cheddars in the world and Madness balances its intensity and flavours perfectly. Open the bottle to a tropical punchbowl of aromas, as this beer is all about the hops. There are masses and masses of late hops and dry hops to maximise the beautiful flavours and aromas, so you can experience wave after wave of tropical and citrus fruits.

Maes Pils

Maes is an innovative brand that is known for its surprising, creative campaigns. Maes always brings people together in an original way to a party at home or cafe. Maes Pils is a refreshing and thirst-quenching beer. By only using malt Maes is a definite character, while the typical yeast ensures the smooth drinkability. The Saaz hops adds a sophisticated bitterness, without sacrificing accessibility. A full-bodied lager so.

Magella

Magella is a Belgian Dark Abbey Ale that our Brew Master Ryan Worthington created in honor of his wife Jessica. Magella is brewed in the typical Belgian fashion, with candy sugar and Belgian hops, malt and yeast. It’s the clove, with hints of banana, that dominate the flavor and aroma of this rich, ruby brown beer. At 11.1% ABV and 48 IBU, this beer makes a great gift that will only improve with age.

Maggie's Farmhouse Ale

Maggie’s Farm is a Belgian Saison brewed in the farmhouse tradition. German Pilsner & English Pale malts contribute a beautiful golden color and dry malty backbone which support robust fermentation esters. Special Belgian yeast adds complex layers of fruit and spice flavors & aromas (called “esters”) naturally produced during the fermentation process. Strong tropical fruit notes and earth farmhouse character are evident in this ale. Maggie’s farm is moderately high in alcohol at 6.8% abv but a very light body and dry finish keep this beer drinkable. Overall look for a dry and surprisingly light-bodied Saison with a unique fruit & spice character with just a hint of wildness to the flavor.

Maggie's Irish Red

This was supposed to be the March Seasonal for St. Patrick's Day, and was on tap on SBC's opening day. It sold out so quickly, and is so popular it has become a staple. Featuring ingredients from several European countries, Canada and the US, Maggie's is a unique treat with wonderful color and not too much caramel taste. We use roasted barley, three specialty malts, Northern Brewer and German Tettnanger hops to make Maggie's Irish Red as unique as the girl it is named after...Ray's youngest daughter, Magdalene, who loves to fill those peanut bags at SBC!

Maggie's Leap

Our take on a traditional English Sweet Stout. Sparse hopping and the addition of lactose creates a wonderful sweetness and body to the beer which pairs perfectly with the roasted malt and coffee notes. Magic Brown

Springtime is tricky for us, especially in Seattle. The first week of April brought near freezing weather and recently it has been warm and pleasant. We decided to cover all bases and made a brown and hoppy pale. However, Magic Brown itself can fit the schizophrenic weather perfectly. It is dark and malty for the cold, but it’s body is light enough that it will be great on a warmer day as well. Unlike the typical “brown,” we built this brown up to have some more residual malt character by adding some extra munich, caramunich, and other specialty malts, but keeping the overall alcohol content and roast character down.

Magic Mirror

Imperial Kottbüsser Style Ale Once upon a time German beer was only deemed pure if it contained the four orthodox ingredients of brewing: water, barley, hops, and yeast. During this time, an ale known as Köttbusser was outlawed because it contained oats, honey, and molasses. Over the centuries since its prohibition, Köttbusser became a lost brewing style. At Grimm Brothers, we’ve created an imperial version of this beer and named it Magic Mirror. Magic Mirror is the antithesis ale to Snow Drop, brewed with more grains, honey and molasses and aged in oak, this beer is a malty big light colored ale. It has just enough hops to balance the sweetness but leave a refreshing oak flavor on your tongue.
