Octave has an aroma of fresh herbs, a bit of caramel sweetness, and sweet dark berries. This is followed by flavors of toffee as well as a bready taste and earthiness. There is a sustainable bitterness, after all it is a pale! The finish is clear with an appropriate lingering body. All in all quite enjoyable!

For the month that brings us Halloween, we offer you a frightfully good IPA. A substantial malt body provides the trick to a hops treat — Cascade, Amarillo and Citra, along with a bewitching new varietal hop called Equinox. The result is a unique IPA with beguiling notes of lemon, lime, apple and green pepper. A beer so good it’s downright spooky.

This seasonal beer was created with Munich malt and Bavarian Noble hops to stay true to its German heritage. This smooth beer is deep amber in color to provide the look and taste of a true Octoberfest beer.

Originally brewed to celebrate the beginning of the German brewing season and the 1810 wedding of crown prince Ludwig of Bavaria and his bride-to-be, princess Therese of Saxon-Hildburghausen. This amber beer was brewed in March ("Marzenbier") and left to age in cool lagering caves during the heat of the summer. Our rich and satisfying Bavarian-style OctoberFest comes from a special blend of imported German malts that creates a full-bodied brew and stresses a malty flavor and lingering aroma. Gently hopped and delicately balanced, its true-to-style, slow fermentation and long, cold maturation produces a luxuriously smooth, award-winning brew.

Evenly balanced between malt and hops with an appropriate orange cast for fall, this years Octoberfest features the delicious flavor of Crystal hops, a more assertive variant of Hallertau. Octoberfest (6.1% ABV, 24 IBUs) is a traditional German-style Marzen (Vienna or Octoberfest style). These beers were originally brewed in March and left to lager in cold storage until being served at the Octoberfest celebration in late September. This extended cold conditioning helps these beers to be very smooth and crisp for the fall season. True to tradition, Sebago Brewing Company's Octoberfest was brewed in March of 2011 and spent the summer months conditioning at a chilly 33F until September, which helped harmonize the malt flavors and gentle hop character of this lager. It was fermented at lower temperatures with a lager strain of yeast we do not typically use. Octoberfest is unfiltered and may have a slight haze to its amber color which disappears as the beer warms slightly. Its bready aroma is followed by a subtle grain and toffee flavor with a medium body that finishes crisply. At 6.1% ABV, this Fest Beer is slightly stronger than most beers, but gentle enough to enjoy more than one. PROST!
