Porter Sorta

Ommegang Porter Sorta is an experimental Belgian-British porter, related to a Baltic porter. Deep brown in color, brewed with an extensive mixture of Belgian and specialty malts. Unspiced but brewed to a typically higher Belgian abv than a traditional British porter. Full carbonation, full maltiness, carefully moderated bitterness, and estery character from Ommegang house yeast. Lighter on the palate than traditional porter. Serve above 55º, in a wide glass. Pair with medium density and flavor cheeses, not the big stinky ones and enjoy on its own.

Portia Wyld Sisters Raspberry

This trio of Wyld Sisters are unique blends of various beer batches, each of which underwent a variety of maturation periods in oak barrels. These wooden vessels provide the perfect habitat for Brettanomyces, whose servitude artistically brings the funk. Different berry varietals were incorporated during the lengthy process to add unique fruit flavors. Cousins to last year’s Wyrd Sisters, Wyld Sisters illustrates our first blending experiment. Hark the wedding bells ring to signify the start of a beautiful relationship between this wild aging/blending project and your wanting lips. Part of the 3rd Annual Screens ’n’ Suds Small Batch Series to raise money for charity. Illustrations by local artist Matt Klimas.

Portlandia Pils

This Pilsner has traditional German ties, but its heart is truly in the Pacific Northwest! It has a bit more bitterness than your standard Bohemian lager, thanks to some American hop flavors and aromas right at the forefront. Signature to American hops, Portlandia boasts a wonderful blend of floral, pine, and citrus. As our Brewmaster, Shane, puts it “Portlandia Pilsner is a Northwest Pilsner with all the implied contradictions that go with it."

Positive Contact

A positive combination of Fuji cider, slow-roasted farro, a bit of cayenne and fresh cilantro. This beer part of our Music Series of beers... this one is an amalgamation of hip-hop, beer, cider and a DIY culinary experience! Sam and Dan the Automator of Deltron 3030 teamed up to create Positive Contact, based on Dan's favorite ingredients and Dogfish Head's innovative brewing practices. Named after a key track on the first album, Positive Contact is a 9% ABV hybrid of beer and cider brewed with Fuji apples, roasted farro, a handful of cayenne peppers and a late dose of fresh cilantro. This sweet-and-sour Belgian-ish brew is a light straw color with fruity, cider-like notes. The cayenne and alcohol give it a warming finish. For the inaugural release (2012), the beer was packaged in a dynamic box set of six 750-ml champagne bottles, with a 10-inch vinyl EP of four new Deltron 3030 remixes created exclusively for this project, and a list of Deltron 3030-inspired recipes from a small group of renowned chefs. Subsequent releases did not include the vinyl or recipes.

Post Road Pumpkin Ale

Early American colonialists, seeking natural ingredients for brewing ales, turned to pumpkins, which were plentiful, flavorful and nutritious. Blended with barley malt, pumpkins became a commonly used beer ingredient. Post Road Pumpkin Ale brings back this tasty tradition. Hundreds of pounds of pumpkins are blended into the mash of each batch, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center, and crisp finish.

Potemkin Porter

Hops: Exp 5256, Fuggle, Vanguard The battleship Potemkin was a Russian naval vessel where the crew mutinied against their oppressive officers in 1905. The ships officers ordered the crew to eat borscht made with rotten meat. When the crew refused, the officers threatened to shoot any sailor that refused the order. This was the spark that set off the mutiny. The moral of the story is: Don’t take any crap from the bosses!

Poterie

Poterie is French for “pottery”, the traditional eight-year anniversary gift. Our eighth anniversary ale, Poterie, follows in the footsteps of our anniversary releases before it, which are loosely based on an English-style old ale, fermented with our house yeast strain and then blended using the solera method. This means that a portion of each anniversary ale is saved in oak barrels and blended in with the next year’s production, providing more complexity and depth of character as the years go by. The result is layered in robust and complex flavors of toffee, caramel, dark fruit, vanilla and oak. Poterie will age gracefully for decades when cellared properly. Best stored and served around 55 degrees in a tulip, wine or hand-sculpted pottery glass.
