Another rad collaboration with Eureka! Over a year in the works, we brewed our 1234 Broad St base and then tossed it into Corsair Spiced Rum barrels to age on vanilla beans for over a year. Once we racked it out of the barrel we dry "hopped" it with tons of fresh mint leaves before bottling. This big, boozy, funky, tart and bright wild ale will really take you by surprise. The malty, oaky, background opens up to bright citrus and vanilla finishing with an explosion of fresh mint to clean your pallet and immediately yearn for more.

We were asked by BrewDog Camden to collaborate with them on a beer for Collab Fest; an annual event when BrewDog bars choose a local brewery to work with on producing a beer. We wanted to go dark because of Camden’s association (at least for us) with Goths. The guys at Camden wanted to add a bit of spicy rye malt and the result is Syd Strong’s a black IPA brewed with rye malt and U.S. hops. We named the beer after an old barber’s shop that used to be on Camden High Street when Sam and Graham were in their pomp (a long time ago). Amazingly our graphic designer Francis managed to find an old picture online showing the front of the shop. Even more amazingly the owner of the website kindly allowed us to use the image on our label. The website is an amazing archive of vintage photos of London taken by John Sweetland who’s son David now blogs about London using his Dad’s photos as a starting point. It’s well worth looking at.

Symon Says is the special collaborative effort of two Cleveland companies, B Spot Burgers & Platform Brewing. The beer is a Belgian Pale Ale in style made using a specific blend of Belgian and Saison yeasts that lend a fruity/spicy aroma, with a floral and slightly bitter hop presence. It is a medium bodied golden ale that is smooth, refreshing, and easy drinking, but still full flavored and food friendly.

Symphony is an Imperial Double Chocolate Stout. It is the most robust of the VHBC artisan beers, featuring a complex heavy grain bill including chocolate blended and aged together to create hints of roasted coffee intermingled with light and dark chocolate notes, creating a 10% ABV beer. It is sure to mellow the roughest of days, yet mellow enough to get you through the sunset.

Originally created for the 2008 Craft Brewers Conference, Symposium IPA™ was brewed in true San Diego form, with input from several local brewers. Extravagantly hopped with Simcoe, Tomahawk, Amarillo, Cascade and Centennial layered throughout the brewing process, this beer is pale copper and medium bodied.

Extra Special Bitter, or ESB, were the benchmark beers for British brewers to serve to their special customers. Brewed with British pale and crystal malt, this reddish copper beer finishes with a subtle dose of English Fuggles hops.

Syndicate No. 02 is a blend of five strong ales matured between 15-28 months in various bourbon barrels. The foundation of the blend is comprised of three distinct imperial stouts: Black Hand Volume 1 (38% of blend) imparts a smooth, creamy mouthfeel, Scarface Imperial Stout (25% of blend) provides hints of espresso and bitter roast, and Two Minutes to Midnight (14% of blend), a brew reserved exclusively for barrel-aging, is rich with baker’s cocoa. The muscle of the blend, Old Godfather Barley Wine (20% of blend), adds an earthy tobacco and nutty maltiness. The last 3% of the Syndicate is finished with a wildcard—a dark, oak-forward experimental ale pulled from our vault. The final brew is full-bodied and complex with notes of bitter cocoa, candied fruits, vanilla-infused creme brûlée, earthy tobacco, and a muted bourbon finish.

The aroma is rich with notes of coffee and maple syrup with a delicate sweet smokiness reminiscent of candied bacon. Maple and coffee also dominate the flavor and are complimented by scrumptious roast and chocolate contributions from dark malts. Supporting these flavors is a satisfying, full-bodied mouth feel created by generous additions of oats and lactose.

Systema Naturae (System of Nature) is an exploration of scientific processes and ingredients exhibited throughout the natural world. This addition to the series, Devilwood & Apricots, blends the sweet aroma of Devilwood Blossoms with the musk and tartness of Apricots. Fermented with wild lactobacillus and wild yeast. Naturally conditioned.

Syzygy, a dark and stunning phenomenon we captured in a bottle. An intriguing alignment of fruity and spicy notes from the Belgian yeast and astronomical amounts of Cascade hops, all eclipsed in a black ale. Dry hopped and malty for an otherworldly union of flavors.

Syzygy double IPA is an astronomical alignment of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma converging on your mouth, leaving your head in the stars. The flavor of sweet pine entwines with peach and mandarin before shifting into a dry finish with a lingering bitter bite. Hard to pronounce, easy to enjoy.

This is a floral and spicy “double sess” filled with ginger and Szechuan peppercorns. It’s a wit without being cloying. For all you hefe-haters who want a great summer beer.

An amber colored American pale ale, medium-bodied, with well-balanced malt and hop flavor, a hoppy aroma, and crisp finish. Year round in cans and draft.

This classic German-style Gose is the product of a mixed fermentation resulting in a dry, tart character that is then spiced with salt and coriander.
