In celebration of Reformation Day, we present the Reformator. On October 31, 1517, our favorite beer guzzling monk, Martin Luther nailed the 95 theses to the church door in Wittenberg. We can think of at least 95 reasons to drink this beer. Let us name a few. Doppelbock, also known as "liquid bread", is a great beer to warm you on a cool night. Ours is full of rich toasty bread flavors with notes of dark fruit and a full mouthfeel followed by a pleasant warming.

Strong spicy rye nose, dry hoppy bitterness throughout, smooth slightly bitter finish, lingering rye spice notes.

THE REMEDY Brown Ale is a well-balanced hoppy brown ale with a nutty, bready malt character, while the Chinook & Nugget dry hops reveal a piney, spicy & earthy note.

The Rev. James beer is one steeped in history. Acquired after the purchase of Crown Buckley, Rev. James is brewed to an original recipe dating back to 1885. The beer is named after one of the original owners of Buckley Brewery, the Rev, James Buckley, a business man with two conflicting roles – saving souls and satisfying thirsts. The Rev. James is brewed to a traditional recipe and has been described as having a flavour not commonly available these days. Full-bodied and warming, The Rev. James is rich in palate, spicy and aromatic with a deeply satisfying finish.

The story of the Rider is the story of the wandering soul. Never in one place too long, never staying for more than a song. The Hobo is a quintessential American icon. It is unclear when he appeared in our history but the Hobo was a hard working man who followed jobs from town to town relying only on the cold steel rails for home. The moniker Hobo comes from combining the first two letters of Homeward Bound. Just like this relic of American folklore The Rider has done its share of wandering. This West Coast red has been around the world. It represents the nomadic combination of our house Belgian yeast strain mixed with the west coast giant Simcoe hop and an anonymous experimental variety that will forever remain nameless, as do the men who rode those rails so long ago. “I Know You Rider, Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone”

We take our inspiration from Orpheus, who revealed the mysteries of the gods. The Orphic Rites break the never ending cycle of the Transmigration of Souls, allowing us to control our own destiny. This juicy, mysteriously hopped IPA is brewed for those who are ready to break the monotony, to dream, and to take control.

Mosaic hopped

Unsophisticated, country bumpkin, hick, hayseed, chawbacon, yokel, yahoo—all accurately describe our lovable Belgian-inspired blonde ale. Not to be confused, with its sophisticated, uptown sister La Rubia—the Rube plays havoc with a variety of estery fruit flavors and spiced aromas created in the mysterious fermentations of our wit yeast strain.

The more hops in the beer the gooder it is. Yes, but by the same token the more brett in the beer the gooder it is also. Simcoe hops…..mmmm, Mosaic hops…..yuuuum, Nelson Sauvin hops…..dribble dribble. Got THe RUSH yet? Or perhaps that’s just wild yeast in your beer. This IPA is entirely fermented with a brett strain isolated from Brussels called Brettanomyces Bruxellensis Trois. You won’t find any horse-blankets here, instead this brett strain exhibits characteristics of mango and pineapple that intermingle with the hops into a harmonious cacophony of fruity goodness. It’s like looking into the eye of a duck and sucking all the fluid from its beak. Enjoy!

Formerly known as Single Pale Ale, and lovingly nicknamed Super Pale Ale, this Special Pale Ale is golden in color, dry, clean and well balanced. Generous doses of Columbus, Centennial and Cascade hops in the boil, then dry-hopped with Centennial and Amarillo. Tasty and quaffable, it’s no wonder this has become one of our brewer Adam’s favorite Fate beers (earning it the title Schmeichel’s Pale Ale). We’ll let you decide what the “S” stands for.

A superbly balanced beer with ‘smokey’ overtones from peated malt. With a measure of English Whisky from St. George’s Distillery in Norfolk, it is rich in flavour.

The Salty Lady is our interpretation of a Gose – a rather obscure, tart, salty German style beer. Our version is soured in the kettle with a lactic culture. The tartness is tempered by salt additions from around the world and finished with coriander for a citrus and earthy touch. We ferment with our house saison yeast to put our own little spin on the style. Its flavor is reminiscent of a sports drink at the end of a 110 degree day.

This beer is Sloop Brewing’s artistic ale. The Sauer Peach’s complex flavors come from a natural sour culture. This tart flavor is woven with sweet peach nectar to provide your palate with a contrastingly balanced beer. It is light in body, and stands at alc. 4.3% by vol. One theory holds that the Berliner Weisse style ale originated from the Huguenots passing through the Flanders region of Belgium on their way to Germany. Later, the Huguenots established a community in New Paltz, NY, which is just across the Hudson River from Sloop Brewery. This is our interpretation of their beer.

In the spirit of scientific inquiry we bring you an ever evolving IPA. Each batch will have a slight shift of one ingredient. One batch could have a small proportion of one malt swapped for another, the next batch may change the amount of a particular hop during the boil, a later batch may change out a hop variety entirely. Starting with a light bodied, hop forward IPA, we will take small intentional steps towards finding just the right balance of floral, citrus and tropical hop notes. For the foreseeable future, each time you taste this beer, it will be different from the last.

This traditional German-style dark wheat ale exhibits hints of chocolate with a restrained yeast character. It's brewed with Perle hops, German and Belgian malts and our house wheat yeast strain.

Watch out! The SheRIff of Rock RIdge, is here and trust us when we say this latest barrel aged brew is nothing to scoff at. A recipe of chocolate wheat, North American oats, pale malt and wheat malts was chosen for the base beer and put into 8 Thomas Tew Rum barrels. Brewing with high proportions of intense darker malts brought forth aroma and tastes similar to that of a rich coffee roast and baker’s chocolate. With The SheRIff, our brewers wanted to dabble into natural spiciness adding in German chocolate rye, a malt never before used in the brew house, and an aggressive Belgian yeast strain. After 5 months in the heavily charred wooden barrels, big flavors of caramel, toffee, oak and aged rum gently seeped into the brew, creating complex layered flavors ready to be consumed! A brew with dark malts and a Belgian background? We have a feeling the residents of Rock Ridge would approve and we hope you do too!
