Every year we anxiously await the warmer months to unleash this Double IPA, the summer edition of our YuleSmith seasonals. The flavor imparts orange, grapefruit, and tangerine hop notes with earthy, spicy, and resinous pine undertones. A sturdy malt backbone balances out the profound hop bitterness to create a refreshingly assertive and vibrant beer that offers an unapologetically bold expression of fresh American hops.

Our Passion for flavorful, complex beers has never been exhibited more clearly than in this dark Belgian ale. Judicious amounts of dark specialty grains give this beer its rich mahogany color and malty sweetness while an authentic trappist yeast strain provides its distinctive aroma of fruit and spice. The Belgian inspired ale series continues with our Belgian dark strong ale. A delicate fruit character from our Belgian yeast strain combines with numerous dark specialty malts to create flavors of plum, raisin, and fig. Both strong and malty, this mahogany colored ale could be the perfect elixir for a cold winter night.

Yuzu is a popular Asian Fruit with Meyer lemon, mandarin oranger and grapefruit flavors. Combined with light rye malts for a dry, crisp base and spices like cardamon, tangerine peels and basil, it will quence even the biggest summer thirst. 5.5% ABV 23 IBU

Emerging from the heights of Appalachian Mountains, The James River flows down to the banks of Richmond City and beyond, passing through a series of majestic dams and rapids along the way. To show our appreciation for our great friends at the James River Outdoor Coalition and one of the dams in particular, we've named our Summer Seasonal in honor of the iconic Z Dam which connects Pony Pasture to William's Island. This pale-gold ale sports a light body and a clean malt flavor. Refreshing and quenching, Z Dam evokes an acute zestiness driven by a balance of late kettle hops and the addition of ginger, orange, and lime in the boil. Our Z Dam Ale is perfect to enjoy while basking in the sun on your patio, or when toasting a successful descent through the rapids of the mighty James River.

December 2011 - Zacks IIPA - designed by Homebrewer Zach Frasher from the Grass Valley/Auburn area. Zacks American Double India Pale Ale is a bursting hop forward citrus and floral hop bomb that finishes dry with a touch of sweetness. Bittered with medium level Cohumulone bittering hops giving this DIPA a little more hop bite.

Apricots are thought to be native of the Persian territory, where they were commonly referred to as a Zard-Alu. These precious stone fruits were so highly revered that they were often used as a commodity in the markets. The stones were not to be wasted, much like this brew. Apricots shine bright, while peach and pear-like flavors mingle in the background, as Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus create the tie that binds all the components. The end result is a complex ale that is playfully sour, light, and refreshing.

Zatecky Gus (Zhatetsky goose) is a light lager with a light traditional flavor. This beer is brewed on the original recipe with addition of famous Czech aromatic hop of Zhatetsky variety. This hop gives the beer its specific aroma and slight bitterness. The new beer drinks easily. The Zhatetsky hop has been grown in the area of Zhatets town in northern Czechia for more than 700 years. From the old times the hops has been famous not only in Czechia, but as well in the neighbouring regions.
