Astounding Enterprises is dedicated to the pioneering spirit of California. The term was coined by Mark Twain in the late 1800s while traveling through California. Twain viewed the pioneers’ bold endeavors as, “a magnificent dash and daring and a recklessness.” We created this adventurous beer-wine hybrid with that same intrepid spirit. Astounding Enterprises is blended from select barrels of imperial sour red ale aged with merlot grapes, raspberries, cacao and vanilla beans. Part wine, part beer and part autumn harvest—this brew is 100% California. Pair this decadent beer with dry aged steak, Coq au Vin or chocolate ganache cake. “It was a Splendid Population – for all the slow, sleepy, sluggish-brained sloths stayed at home – you never find that sort of people among pioneers – you cannot build pioneers out of that sort of material. Originally brewed to commemorate the winter solstice, the longest night of the year, this Imperial Stout was designed for complexity and smoothness with substantial body and rich texture. Having rested in a mix of Bourbon and Rye Whiskey barrels for just shy of a year, this stout is best sipped in the warm company of old friends to help stave off the winter chill.

A blend of 50% apple and 50% pear hard cider, made with rose petals and hibiscus.

We’re still not really sure how it all went down. Everything was kind of a blur. Someone called someone’s package out and demanded some immediate action. Tentative whispers and coy glances turned to giggles and playful suggestions. Suddenly we realized it was on – and everyone jumped in to make it happen. The sweet rush of creation with a burst of hands crafting a symphony of elements. Delights for all the senses – enticing aromas, flavors to feed thirsty mouths, and lush images to tantalize the eyes. A tactile and imaginative feast! After it was all over, there may have been some awkward flushed looks but never tears or accusations. Everyone played their role and everyone had a great time doing it. The first release of our Hop Chronicles series, The Mosaic Crown is an unfiltered pale ale double dry hopped with mosaic hops. Aroma and flavors of papaya, tangerine, and earthy pine. Brewed by gnomes for their protection and king. Bow down to the Mosaic Crown.

Started in Foeders then aged in whiskey barrels with plum.

A crisp, lively, and slightly tart Saison brewed with Epiphany base malt and Wheat. An unmistakable addition of lore than 350 pounds if Westwrn NC raspberries lends a fresh-picked aroma and an alluring pink hue.

Smoke Screens and Oil Slicks is a full bodied imperial stout with rich chocolate/coffee character, dark fruit and some light smoke.

Brewed exclusively for GABF 2017. A high ABV RIS brewed with Coffee, Chocolate and Macadamia Nuts. Aged in Bourbon Barrels.

Imperial stout aged in Whiskey & Rum barrels with cocao nibs, barrel aged coffee, & barrel aged coconut added.

DOMN8R aged on split vanilla beans for a hint of smooth and creamy vanilla flavor.

NE IPA w/ Galaxy and Nelson Hops

Chocolate - because Lord knows the world doesn’t need another fruitcake. This Chocolate Milk Stout takes inspiration and ingredients directly from our friends at Salazon Chocolate Co. Roamers of the earth, pioneers of salted chocolate.

We took a big, bold sea salt Gose and aged it in fresh Tequila barrels for three months before adding fresh limes. Bittered with Vic’s Secret hops and brewed with wheat and oat malts, this beer has a rich creamy body that finishes fast with an explosion of Tequila, lime and salt. Some nights you feel like cuddling on the couch and watching Netflix. Other nights you feel like pillaging villages, burning your enemies crops and salting the earth. Some lovers like to cuddle and others are gasoline to your fire and want to dance through the ashes as you burn the world down. The problem with these relationships is when they go bad they often explode from an intense passionate love to a deep burning hatred.
