It has very rich specific fragrance due to the addition of raspberries and wild rose to nectar honey. 1 litre of Półtorak style mead contains 720 g of natural honey. By comparison, the Dwojniak style of mead contains 610g/L of honey; the Trojniak contains 420g/L and the Czworniak contains 320g/L. Półtorak mead matures for several years to achieve full clarity. In time its rich aroma hides a high content of alcohol (16%) and acidity forming the finest liquor there is.

Banana Split Melomel

This mead explores the combination of strawberries, bananas, and chocolate. We took some of the "Yo Momma’s Strawberry Pizzazz" and added fresh ripe bananas and cocao nibs to it until it took on a nice balance of flavor. The nose is dominated by bananas and strawberries with a nice kiss of cocao coming through. It is a nice sweet mead with beautiful and subtle dark chocolate undertones from the cocao nibs. Barrel-Aged Series 2 - Sui Generis

Sui Generis, which is #2 in our new Barrel-Aged Series, will debut at the Avery Tap Room on Wednesday, September 23rd from 3-8 PM. Due to extremely limited quantities of this brew (<150 cases will be produced), 12oz. single bottles will be sold only at the Avery Tap Room, between 3 PM and 8 PM on September 23rd. Sui Generis is a complex ale, aged and artfully blended from several types of oak barrels, and displays a delightful lactic sourness complimented by hints of brett, oak, and acetic. Intricate yet bold, deeply complex yet surprisingly refreshing, Sui Generis was crafted in the tradition of perennial Tap Room favorites De Vogelbekdieren and Voltron. A blend of ales from 39% Cabernet Sauvignon barrels, 35% Chardonnay barrels, 13% Port barrels and 13% Bourbon barrels.

This fine brew pours a deep brown with thin light tan head and light lacing. Nose of coffee, dark chocolate, and rich caramel. Flavors are spot on with coffee and cocoa up front and on the back. Deep roasted grains on the aftertaste and a mild hop bitterness that plays well with a butterscotch like flavor. A silky smooth mouthfeel, light on the carbonation, and highly quaffable, this is a stout drinkers porter. Very nice indeed.
