This mead has fresh cranberries from the coast and wildflower honey from the mountains. Cranberries are already known for their ability to give summer refreshment or holiday warmth, much like this mead. An interesting twist is given by the addition of fresh, whole sage which contributes an earthy, nearly minty flavor.

It’s not as heavy bodied and malty as many IPA’s, in contrast the palate is more crisp and dry. If you consider yourself a "hop-head" you owe it to yourself to grab this beer.

Cupids Sweet Kiss is a combination of cranberry, raspberry, and local Massachusetts Honey. The honey adds sweetness and balance to the cran-raspberry fruit, creating a balance of sweet honey and light berry flavor in the mouth. The mead starts out with berry’s on your tongue with the honey balancing the tartness of the fruit. The finish is smooth with a bit of tannin to round out the flavor which leaves your mouth slightly dry and wanting another sip. You can’t get this small-batch mead in California or France, only here in Massachusetts, so please try our second seasonal mead and enjoy all the kisses you will receive if you share it!

Honey and apple mead

Our 2004 Cyser Reserve is made with apple cider from Paonia, Colorado and fermented with over 800 lbs of honey. A cyser is a honey wine made with apple cider, apple juice, or apples. This delicious beverage has warming notes of honey and apple. Perfect for sipping anytime of the year.

A traditional mead made with renegade honey collected from illegal beehives kept within Detroit city limits. These hives were hidden/protected by placing them on the roofs of abandoned buildings and in local backyards. The mead has a hint of spice to it that is unique to the honey. The mead was supposed to stop at 14% ABV, but just like the city of Detroit, it just wouldn’t give up and ended at 17% ABV.

We were able to get our hands on a very limited supply of special clover blossom honey which was truly deserving of a unique recipe. So we fermented it with an equally unique yeast that helps bring out the delicate floral, pineapple, and buttery notes. It goes without saying, we would happily make this all clover again.

Dark Dark Goose The Inspiration We approached this mead with inspiration from the imperial stouts aged in bourbon barrels we love so much. These stouts have a small percentage of dark roasted barley that gives the burnt toasty flavors. But they also have a lot of malt background. We decided to see if we could approach a mead in the same way. The Coffee We took a field trip to Chazzano Coffee Roasters in Ferndale, MI to meet with founder and coffee expert, Frank Lanzkron-Tamarazo. As usual, Frank pulled out all the stops and soon we had about a dozen french presses of different coffees roasted to different levels. We evaluated each one for a couple of hours until we had just the right combination. We eventually settled on a blend of 75% Nicaragua Maragogype Superior Las Segovias (French roast), and 25% Yemen Mocca San’ani (full city roast). The Honey We wanted the honey profile to be as rich and complex as the coffee we selected, so we eventually settled on a 50/50 blend of Wildflower and Buckwheat honey. Each was sourced in its raw form from beekeepers in Michigan. The Barrels After fermentation, the mead was aged in a bourbon barrel. In October of 2011 our co-founder, Brad, drove his piece of junk car to Chicago to meet with the head of Goose Island’s barrel program. He returned with a coveted barrel (on the roof of his car) that was used to age their Bourbon County Stout. We then aged the coffee mead in this barrel until the summer of 2012. Welcome, the Dark Dark Goose.

Syrah and rum bbl aged dark beer blends. One bbl sat on cranberries for 13 months, the other 100% Brett fermentation;

Imperial stout aged on Swedish Mackmyra Elegant whisky casks, brewed for Belgobaren, Stockholm. OG 1110, EG 1032, EBC 383, 1560 bottles of 18cl produced.

Made with the most heavily peated malt in the world from the Bruichladdich distillery. Almost pitch black and opaque, small head. Furiously peated aroma, hiding the malt, licorice and dark chocolate somewhat. Very full bodied, thick mouthfeel, like fluid bread. Dark chocolate, loads of peat, lapsang souchong tea, chocolate cake, culminating in an almost endless aftertaste that also has licorice. Alcohol varies by batch.

Experimental IPA using British Malt and all liquid hops

Cuvée de la Diable is a top-of-the-line honey wine crafted the traditional way at the base of Montagne de la Diable and aged in oak casks for three years. Brewed in collaboration with Mikkeller from Denmark. Malt Beverage, 1/4 of which has been aged in Speyside whisky barrels.

Péché Mortel (French for "Mortal Sin") is an intensely black and dense beer with very pronounced roasted flavours. Fair trade coffee is infused during the brewing process, intensifying the bitterness of the beer and giving it a powerful coffee taste. Péché mortel is brewed to be savored; we invite you to drink it in moderation. This stout style, high in alcohol and bitterness in order to favour preservation, was historically brewed to support the long and arduous voyage necessary to export the beer from England to Russia. The word Imperial comes from the fact that the beer was specially brewed for the Russian tsar’s court.

Dobbel Dose or Dobbel Dram is a double IPA made with european style hops rather than US hops. This beer is also heavily dryhopped in the aging tank for the extra hop taste and aroma. 9% alc. 82 ibu and 22 ebc. Made from Maris Otter malt, wheat malt and Crystal. Serve at 10-12C or 50-55F. Goes well with spicy food and grilled meat. American Bottle Label -- "Double Dram" is made with more of everything, including all the hops the Hand Brewery’s tiny brew-kettle can take. Feisty American hops for bittering are followed by noble Fuggles and Styrian Goldings for a spicy, flowery aroma.
