Pioneered in the American state of California, American Pale Ale, or APA for short, was designed to showcase the unique resiny fruitiness of American hops. Here at Renaissance we have given this style a truly New Zealand flavour by using Cascade and Willamette hops that are grown over the hill in Nelson.

Our second hopalicious creation, this red IPA couldn’t wait any longer to get into your glass! Some caramel malt sweetness with a touch of roast and a firm American-hop flavor yields to a bouquet of floral, piney, and citrus aromas! Enjoy!

This American Wheat Ale is brewed with a bunch of wheat and American hops. Just enough bitterness, hop flavor, and aroma to keep it quaffable.

A dry hopped, amber German wheat beer brewed with a more complex and biscuity malt profile for Winter. Fermentation characters of spice and citrus meld with a new German hop variety, Mandarina Bavaria, and are backed up by a characterful base malt combo of Vienna, Munich, and Wheat. Spicy, malty, complex, and refreshing.

Brewed as an ‘all day beer’ this lower alcohol style is not lacking in flavor or aroma! Combining the right amount of hops and malt we have created a balanced, drinkable Ale. We used classic American Hops and Montana grown barley. Malts: Aroma, Caramel, and Pilsner. Hops: Cascade, Willamette, and Simcoe®.

Bean counter is a perfectly balanced and traditional English Porter, "completely ruined" by the addition of Tahitian vanilla! While our traditionalist friends cringe, we celebrate the way the vanilla gently binds the chocolate and espresso notes present in the base beer and adds a warm creamy note. Think a coffee laced creme brulee, and you won’t be far off. The vanilla is subtle though, we didn’t want to offend those traditionalist mates of ours too much after all! It’s there to bring out the underlying flavours of the beer, and complement them with subtlety. It’s not supposed to be a vanilla bomb. We’re sure you’ll get it once you try it!

Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Vanilla Oatmeal Stout

We decided to call our Kölsch-style beer "Das Bier" (The Beer) because a Kölsch is a standard, solid representation of beer. As usual with we try to stay as close as possible to what a traditional Kölsch is supposed to taste like, although it is our interpretation of the classic style. Bright and clean, Das Bier is perfect for those hot Oregon days. It has a crisp malt character with a touch of hop bitterness. Typically available late May through August.

Russian Imperial Stout aged for 13 months in Napa Valley Red Wine Barrels.

A tasty spin on the arcane Gose style with the addition of 60L of Beet Kraut juice to give the beer it's signature salty and savoury component and a rather fetching deep pink colour.

Hole in the Wall Hefeweizen is a traditional German style wheat beer. Boasts flavors of clove and banana with a slightly tart finish. Note: this beer was not brewed using any spices or fruit, rather the weizen yeast strain we used exclusively for this beer imparts those complex and spicy flavors. Named for the famed backcountry site in Glacier National Park, triple decoction brewed Hole in the Wall Hefeweizen is our attempt at capturing the essence of summer in a glass.

A hoppy, dry pale ale. Brewed to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Lee Metcalf Wilderness Area. This is the official beer of 'The Summer of Lee'. Orange in color, and hopped exclusively with Citra hops. This beer is extremely refreshing.

One of our newer IPA’s and a Tap Room favorite, this IPA feature Mosaic hops which give it a big aroma and great passion fruit bitterness with a full bodied flavor to balance all those amazing hops.

Muay Thai Octopi are brothers that grew up having tentacle fights every night before dinner. In order to channel their energy in a more positive way, their parents sent them to learn Muay Thai Kickboxing. With all those legs they became experts very quickly and dinner time became a more tolerable affair in the Octopi household. However they still have a hard time sitting still in class and have an acute Mountain Dew and MineCraft addiction. They dream of getting a job designing video games or playing, “Sagat” in the next inevitable Street Fighter film remake. M.T.O. features 8 different grains and 8 different hops for a snap kick to the face of juice and dank. Super soft and incredibly creamy in texture.

Traditional brown, English-style Barleywine with complex malt sweetness of caramel and toffee. Full bodied with balanced bitterness and a warm finish.

A revamp of our original Paradox - which was a Blonde Ale - we have made some tweaks to the yeast of fermentation to bring you the new, improved, Paradox. As soon as you flip the top off the bottle you know you’re in for something special. While the bright golden hue hints at a great quaffing beer, the explosion of passionfruit and citrus aromas - the signature of the Riwaka hop variety - leave you in no doubt you’re in for more than mere refreshment. On the palate the initial biscuity malt sweetness is soon joined by those zingy hop notes. This beer is flavour-packed, yet crisp and thirst quenching - that’s the paradox! When your thirst is finally slaked, try another glass with the best seafood dish on the menu. Yum!
