La Bonte with Plum

The second release from our Canvas Series is La Bonte our Brett Farmhouse Ale with Plum. The Canvas Series is inspired by our need to constantly push ourselves in new and creative directions with the brushes and ink that our time crafting sours and wilds have provided us. La Bonte with plums fits right into that ethos. Open fermented with our house wild culture and blended onto Italian Plums (one pound per gallon, this is a beer we can't wait for you to try either fresh or cellared.

MOT Eureka

Long ago in 2001, we had a eureka moment. We’re miles away down here, so why copy their beers? Using all local hops from the Motueka area, we perfected this 100% NZ Pilsner. Crisp, firm bodied with notes of citrus, it spawned a whole new style of beer, now proudly sent offshore to faraway places like Europe. Mot Eureka was originally named Tuatara Bohemian Pilsner. When this beer style was introduced to New Zealand most beer lovers didn't know what a Pilsner was or where it originated, so it was best to tell it to them straight. How times have changed! New Zealanders now arguabley have one of the most sophisticated beer palates in the world. We are also making some of the best beer and are proud to celebrate our Kiwi flavours and ingredients. Mot Eureka is now aptly named to do just that. We hope you continue to enjoy this brew, as always.

L Yeah Hoppy Lager

According to Urban Dictionary, "L Yeah" is derived from, "In the name of hell, Yes!". This saying expresses either great joy or agreement with either a speaker or an ongoing situation. It has been made popular by the WWE's "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Pact doesn't really care for wrestling, but we've wrestled with a new experimental hop, Loral, for this bad boy. This Kellerbier (a fresh, unfiltered lager) has clean lager characteristics with the fresh melon, fruit salad characters that this new Loral hop is known for. Get your L on. L yeah!

Modern Comforts

Modern Comforts is a collaboration with our friends at Modern Times in San Diego. For this massively hopped Double IPA we used Citra and Mosaic hop pellets, CO2 hop extract, and lupulin powder from YCH Hops. Using all three of these hop products, and putting our minds together with our west coast friends, we absolutely saturated the hop flavor and aroma in this beer. Modern Comforts pours a pale golden orange color with an off white, pearl foam. Upon pouring, we get citrus zest, blueberry, fresh squeezed orange juice, tropical fruit and some light floral notes. The flavor turns it all up a notch moving into earthy, melon rind, pineapple, and more tropical fruit notes that finish with a medium bitterness. It’s a love letter for the hop head consumer from a couple hop head breweries. Cheers & enjoy!

Oh, Fantistic Then!

Oh, Fantastic Then! is familiar and foreign all at the same time. Pouring a translucent pale orange gold, the prominent foam presents big fruit aromas of strawberry, kiwi, mango, and orange. This complex opening aptly prepares you for the palate of earthy, funky cantaloupe, bitter orange pith, subtle cherry, strawberry, kiwi, and a light grassiness. The initial hop impact presents aggressively with many layers, however immediately the beer reminds you it is a soft, medium bodied pale ale, with a clean finish that begs for another sip. The South African hop in this beer, Southern Passion, truly offers a new type of hop profile that keeps unfolding in the glass and definitely keeps you coming back for more.” Cheers and happy drinking!

Olde School

Fermented with dates and figs, this smooth barleywine has a unique flavor. The concept for this beer came from an old cellerman's manual Sam came across (for more on that, check out the video below). At about 15% ABV, this beer is a great candidate for aging. Over time, the beer dries out and the pit fruit flavors come forward and the hops recede. Our recommendation? Grab a few bottles when you find it -- enjoy one now, and age the others for a bit. Let us know which you prefer!

Filou

Filou is a rascal that you take lightly at your peril. Introduced in 2014, this young member of the Van Honsebrouck family packs a grown up punch. Filou will surprise you with its naughty character, but is calling it a rascal or a scamp a little disrespectful? In fact, the name is a nod and a wink to both the drinker and the beer: Filou goes down so easily that you’ll be asking for a refill before long. What about the drinker? Is he or she a rascal who can’t resist Filou’s temptations? Not many people will leave it at just the one glass, which poses the question: who is the biggest filou of the two? Filou is brewed with Belgian and Czech aromatic hops, pilsner malt and is refermented in the bottle. Another one for the road…?
