This Belgian-Style Ale has been matured in American and French oak red wine barrels for a year to add layers of complexity to its rich flavor profile of dark fruit and Belgian caramel malts. The oak and red wine flavors imparted by the barrel-aging process blend seamlessly with subtle hints of raisin, plum, and bittersweet chocolate from the beer. This Barrel-Aged version of our American Barleywine Ale is matured in premium bourbon barrels for up to one year to develop its rich and intense flavor profile. Coffee was introduced to India a few centuries earlier by Baba Budan, the namesake of this beer. A merchant and a smuggler, the legend has it that Budan brought the first seeds of the coffee plant from Yemen to India sometime in the 17th century. The collaborative brew between AMB and Fonta Flora brewery in Morganton, NC is named after him. Just as he brought the new flavor of coffee to the markets of India, we are bringing you this new variety of IPA. We took a true West-coast style IPA and infused it with 40 pounds of locally roasted coffee from Expresso News coffee shop in downtown Boone. The result is a delicious mix of roasted and citrus aromas in a beer that will delight drinkers of both. Cheers to Baba Budan and his unlikely path to bring these two worlds together.

Babayaga, our autumn seasonal beer, appears each year just as the winds begin to blow a little stronger and the nights bring Winter’s first frost. The beer is a 7% export-strength woodland stout. We found this beer in a cauldron in a tiny wooden cabin perched on chicken legs in the woods near the Volga River. The old lady inside, an ancient witch/wise-woman/baby-eater called Baba Yaga, let us try some. We liked it so much, she said we could brew it for all of you here back home, as long as we named it after her. And so we did! How could we not have: she’d have eaten us if we didn’t! It took us a while to figure out the secrets to Baba Yaga’s recipe, but we think we’ve got it: We smoke some malt with rosemary, and we add a few other eerie embellishments that she’s making us keep hush-hush. We ferment with a mix of English and Belgian yeast strains. This beer should taste like Eastern European folklore, like woodland, streams, cold dark nights and woodsmoke. Enjoy it!

A 75 IBU red ale heavily hopped with Centennial and Cascade Hops. Caramel and grassy hop notes on the nose. The hops are up front from first taste while malt comes in quickly to balance. Malt fades away to leave citrus and grapefruit on the finish

Coconut stout

Aged on Hungarian oak with a hefty dry hop with an experimental hop variety, this traditional German-style Bock is transformed into a smooth lager with toasty vanilla and hazelnut and a rich and spicy hop aroma.

A golden, American style pale ale with a generous amount of Centennial & Cascade hops. Very floral and slightly bitter.
