Taking its name from the notorious great-great uncle of Bad Tom Brewing co-founder, Sean Smith, Bad Tom Ale promises to continue drawing the attention of the crowds. Noted for its unique taste, this ale is popular all across the broad spectrum of beer fans. Master Brewer and cofounder, Charles Boucher, has fine-tuned his sixgrain/ 3 hop Irish Brown recipe to become the initial offering, and the flagship brew, of Bad Tom Brewing. Bad Tom is a medium bodied ale with rich reddish-brown color, a small tan head and a fruity aroma. With an essence of toasted malt combined with candied nuts and a light caramel flavor, the smooth texture is finely balanced with a blend of hops and an unforgettable clean finish. The result is an all-around balanced beer with the most important ingredient of all— GREAT TASTE!

Baltic Porters are an Eastern European take on classic English Porters. Influenced by Russian Imperial Stouts, Baltics are higher in strength than traditional Porters, and feature multiple layers of flavors and aromas. Badder Elmer’s is a meaty dark lager, utilizing cold fermentation temperatures to achieve a quaffable and clean brew, with malty highlights ranging from nutty to licorice and candy caramels. Fruity aromas lead to a complex malt character and supportive continental hop bitterness. Available in limited amounts only at our Bloomington Tap Room and Indy Tasting Room.

Baderbräu Red Velvet is a contemporary take on a classic German bock, a hoppy bock if you will. Red Velvet is a deep red, full-bodied malt bomb with a pronounced hop bitterneess in the creamy head followed by big, complex, dark, and chewy malts; long, lingering caramel flavors; and a touch of delicious sweetness. Pair as you would a fine port or sauterne. Great with strong, sharp and nutty or stinky and blue-veined cheeses; nut meats; dried and sugar-plumped fruits; and chocolate- especially dark bitter. Excels with fowl, including turkey, goose, duck, pheasant, quail, and squab.

Hops come at this bad boy from all angles. Citra, Simcoe, and Mosaic are added during the boil, in the whirlpool and again at the end of fermentation. Hop pellets and lupulin powder, a product of Yakima's YCH Hops, work side by side to create a hop lover's dream. Citrus, mango, pine and a malt profile to balance the ABV kick. We emptied our bag o' tricks on this one.
