Our nod to the traditional German-style black lager, intensively step-mashed for malt body, not sweetness, assertively hopped for a grassy, spicy aroma. Complicated without being obtrusive.

The Black Lager is espresso in color and in smell. The dry, roasty notes dominate the front of the draw which is cut by the clean, lager yeast. Medium in body, dark in color, and light in complexity make this lager a perfect evening beer.

Derived from the recipes of medieval Germanic brewers, our Black Lager embodies a millennium of refinement. Schwarzbier (literally: black beer) originates from eastern Germany and is a window into pre-modern brewing. Medieval brewers browned barley over open flames; today we get the characteristically subtle roasted flavor by using the finest toasted malts. Our tribute to the German Schwarzbier (Black Beer) style. Very dark brown in color with underlying roasted malt and chocolate notes with a subtle hop character. Despite its dark appearance, Brown’s Black Lager is deceptively very clean, light bodied and easy drinking.

This dark beer combines the depth of flavor of a stout with the crispness of a Czech lager. Roasted barley flavors balance perfectly with the taste of authentic Noble Hops, making this beer the perfect choice for all seasons.

Our cold weather session lager, built for multiple pints when the days get short. Black in color yet modest in ABV, our Black lager has an upfront malt sweetness with notes of roast and chocolate, yet finishes medium dry without cloying sweetness. This is a Czech staple, and one we love to brew each winter. Enjoy!

A beer for the brightest of days and the blackest of nights. Black Lantern combines dark roasted malt flavor with bright herbal, earthy pine hop aroma. Its well-balanced and aggressively dry-hopped.

Chocolate and roasted malt characteristics compliment the additions of Madagascar vanilla bean, anise, and fresh chocolate mint. Vanilla aromas greet the nose and are tasted in the initial flavors, followed quickly by the anise. The finish, especially when the beer warms a bit, show cases the crisp, sweet chocolate mint. This well balanced beer is a bronze medal winner at the 2010 WBC.

First brewed in 2011, Black Lightning is all that it’s name implies and more. Combining the style defining characteristics of both dark beers and IPAs, this stormy balance of subtle, roasted dark malt flavor and the citrusy, floral character of Northwestern American hops, a moderately strong alcohol presence (6.5% abv) and an electrifyingly hoppy finish. With a different blend of apples every year, this cyser is fermented in stainless steel with local honey. It is then moved to red wine oak barrels with fresh red and black raspberries and left to age for 12 months. Thanks to our friends from the band "The Black Lilies" for the name inspiration!

Brewed with New Hampshire Lobsters!

This damn fine ale is the first in a series of beers inspired by the cult show Twin Peaks. Ingredients from some of Agent Coopers Pacific Northwest favorites were incorporated into this beer cherry puree from Oregon, proprietary Seattle Sunrise blend coffee from Notting Hill in Lewes, and Douglas Fir needles clipped fresh from a tree high in the Oregon Cascades. Black Lodge pours blacker than midnight on a moonless night with a thick milk chocolate colored head, and an aroma filled with notes of subtle spruce, mocha, and the smokiness of a sawmill mysteriously set ablaze. The flavor follows suit with layers of mocha and bittersweet cocoa interwoven with a restrained tannic acidity from the tart cherries and Columbus hops, similar to an aged merlot, all wrapped in a lingering smokey veil. Best enjoyed with the company of fellow black spirits in a room with red curtains and a black and white floor; once you enter the world of this beer, there may be no coming back!

Mmmmmmmmmmm...... Black Lung with whisky barrels. I'm still getting the black lung due to aforementioned ventilation issues, but this second incarnation of everyone's favourite barrel aged smokey stout is bigger and bolder than before. Dark, mysterious, uber smooth, rich and luscious - these are adequate descriptors of the brewers.

This robust porter is flavored with toasted coconut that comes through well in the nose. Smooth with roasty, chocolatey notes that give it a full flavor. Released on Black Friday, this coconut porter is sure to put you in the shopping mood.
