A rich oatmeal stout with a nice chocolate character and silk smooth finish. Very satisfying!

English Milk Stout – This beer has been inspired from 18th century England recipes. This style of beer was traditionally brewed for the ladies of London and was the original style of stout prescribed for pregnant ladies – High in Vitamin B, Iron (dark grains), Folate (Yeast) and Calcium (from the water and milk sugars). To create the caramel and chocolate flavours this beer uses 2nd generation Red Tail yeast.

The Black Spruce Porter is a dark beer that stands apart. It displays robust flavors of fine roasted coffee, dark chocolate, molasses and cacao up front, showing intense maltiness that's rounded out by sweeter hints of raisin and plum. The addition of earthy , herbal and floral hops acts as a counterbalance to the malt in terms of flavor and aroma. And brighter peach and dried fruit yeast flavors mix together to create a full-bodied, drinkable porter you could pair with grilled bison for dinner, and chocolate cheesecake for dessert.

Two Row, crystal and Munich malts create the base for the big flavors of chocolate and black malt to build upon. The chocolate and coffee flavor and aroma of the malts are highlighted nicely by the addition of black strap molasses in the boil. Goldings and Fuggle hops provide refined earthy bitterness that compliments the roasty flavors of the malt nicely.

Savor the sweet flavors of fresh Michigan strawberries as the fragrance and taste of our Black Stripe Strawberry Melomel washes over you. This simplest of recipes pays homage to the ideal summertime mead. Steady, invigorating and effortless. Just as the chipmunk danced his way to his first sunrise, so too will you be transported to a place where all the hardships of the everyday wash away with each sip. But beware of the bear, as you too earn your black stripes.

A nose of coffee, roasted malts and piney hops. This medium-bodied stout has a broad depth of maltiness and a clean, dry finish.

Russian Imperial Stout. Deep onyx in color with a golden head. Opens with coffee, chocolate and roasted flavors. Gives way to smooth and rich caramel notes.

Black Rye Ale

We begin with a custom mixture of dark and roasted barley malts, then we add the choicest hops. The resulting ale has a dark chestnut color and a deep nutty flavor. Brewed specially for Trader Joe's.

Black Tongue is a Double Black IPA, brewed in collaboration with metal legends - Mastodon. Rumbling smoky notes are offset by the elixir of misbehaving punchy hops. Citra and Magnum hops to the front, with Carafa Special 3 Malt and Pale on the baseline, this is our biggest and most powerful creation to date. The band wanted to create a 'palate crusher' and that's certainly what has been delivered. A beer for enjoying slowly, letting the bombardment of flavour and intensity hit your tongue and explode with every sip.

We invite you to discover this newest beer style Black IPA. Political debate rages over the origins of this jet black beer as both coasts feel they deserve credit. Our Black Top is a pleasant road connecting Villages and Communities statewide on a ride of Black IPA discovery. Expect this beer to pour a hop forward jet black glass brimming with aromatic bitterness. Brewmaster Dan skillfully weaves molasses and chocolate malt undertones with a soaring rush of clean citrus and pine hop notes, to deliver a drinkable Black IPA. Savor Black Top, like Wisconsin’s miles of licorice ribbons of ink that meander through armies of corn and bovine mowed fields. Enjoy the journey on a road less traveled.

Our second fresh hop offering is brewed with over 10 lbs. of hops per barrel. This dark beer emphasizes the floral, spicy, and citrusy flavor and aroma of our own Cascade hops along with a very subdued malt character of midnight wheat malt.

This variation of Black Tuesday was aged in previously used rum barrels for an extended period of time. Still rich in notes of caramel, toasted malt, vanilla, burnt wood an anise, this variation has additional fruit and spice notes from the rum barrels.
