Der Alte Fritz

Frederick The Great, nicknamed “Der Alte Fritz,” was arguably one of the foremost military geniuses of all time. Oft-studied and spoken highly of by even Napoleon, this ruler of Prussia was a conqueror on a scale that Europe had not seen, nor would see, for an age. With his military creativity and genius, he left humanity much more learned in the ever-changing Art of War. Our humble homage to this battle commander of old is only produced during the fall season. The additions of chocolate malt and crystal malt, as well as rye malt, give this beer a distinctively complex malt character while maintaining both the subtle grainy spice that rye is prized for and the dry, husky robust grain character of a porter. We call it a “dark rye brown,” as no other description has seemed to yet work. Enjoy. Vital Statistics: OG: 14 degrees Plato Malts: American Two-Row, Crystal 60, Dextrine Malt, American Chocolate, Roasted Barley, Malted Rye Hops: Warrior, Centennial, Zythos

Der Herbst

The name means "the autumn". Teamed up again with the wild men from 910th street, we had to make a beer to commemorate both the rich German heritage and the insane popularity of Octoberfest in Hermann. This Märzen style ale is full of flavor and perfect for the fall season. Once again this one is only sold at Wings A-Blazin'.

Der Norden

Der Norden is a golden blond Pilsner modeled after a traditional version from northern Germany. Gassy yeast esters join perfectly with delicate aromas of bread and light pilsen malt. The initial mouthfeel is almost creamy, as soft grain and unique mineral flavors transition quickly toward an expected crispness brought on by ample carbonation. A heightened bitterness comes through on cue, with “hay-like” Noble hop characteristics that linger on the palate with a perfect dryness to encourage more refreshing tastes.

Derailed Black Cherry Ale

Brewery folklore tells a story about a train engineer with a passion for the taste of Railbender Ale. With every stop he made in Erie came an equal number of stops at our brewery. One extended visit to our fermenter left the engineer in a rather befuddled state of mind. On his fateful trip out of Erie that evening, his train mysteriously derailed. The engineer swears that a huge black cherry tree had fallen across the tracks as the culprit. No such tree was ever found, but the front of the locomotive was spattered with hundreds of red sports. In tribute to this folklore our expert brewers introduce Derailed Black Cherry Ale ââ?¬â?? brewed with fresh sweet black cherries and the finest malted barley to create a truly cherrylicious ale. Please enjoy responsibly, as we would never want you to get derailed!

Derailed Series: Cranberry Milk Stout

When we brew the Imperial Stout base for Rum King, we need to break up each boil into two separate mashes due to the amount of grain needed to make it high gravity. After we stop each run-off, there's still a lot of sugar left in the mash. Instead of dumping it down the drain, we decided to save a few barrels worth and create something new. We thought some tartness would be fun, but instead of doing a kettle sour, we used cranberries. The addition of lactose helps smooth everything out! - Head Brewer Josh Bischoff

Lucy

Lively, spirited, and complex, Lucy Session Sour Ale is the latest labor of love from our Head Brewer Josh Bischoff. A tribute to his daughter of the same name, Lucy was a stubborn beer to make - sour, sassy, and unpredictable - but then again, nothing worth doing comes easy. Light in body with lush tropical fruit notes and a tart, citrusy finish, our Session Sour is brewed with lemongrass, orange peel and passion fruit. Sip after sip, let Lucy win you over.

Dérailleur

Part of our Ingenuity Series of Barrel-aged Inventions, Dérailleur®” bière-de-garde (“beer for keeping”) is a deep golden ale brewed to celebrate the global passion for cycling. Named after a bicycle’s gear-changing mechanism, this ale is malty and rustic, with a spicy yeast character. Derecho Common

In the summer of 2012, a violent derecho storm barreled through the DC Metro region, leaving our brewery without power for five days and causing the fermentation temperature of a tank of lager to rise. When our brewers pulled a sample, they were thrilled to learn that the resulting California Common was delicious in its own right! Derecho Common is deep golden in color, with biscuity malt flavors. It is medium-bodied with Centennial hops providing a spicy, citrusy hop finish.

Derivative: Galaxy

This beer is a unique snowflake; a Unicorn on a farm of Shetland ponies; a complete original that we at Proclamation Ale Company came up with entirely by ourselves, by our own creative volition, without any outside inspiration whatever! Wow! Check this out: we got this awesome idea to take barley, make a sugary tea with it, ferment it with yeast and then throw a ton of sexy, nouveau hops in it!! (Note: we named the hops Galaxy when we invented them) NOTHING LIKE THIS HAS EVER BEEN DONE BEFORE!!! Enjoy this beer because you will never drink another one like this again!! EVER!!!
