Literally the Boss. Spicy chocolate melds with vanilla and cinnamon in this Imperial Mexican Stout. Brewed with chili's and aged in Tennessee Whiskey barrels with cacao, cinnamon, and vanilla beans.

This German style Hefeweizen made with 60% German wheat and 40% German Pilsner malt has a refreshing dry, tart, and clove flavor imparted by the authentic Weizen yeast. Hopped with German Hallertauer Mittelfreuh, it is a satisfying ale on these hot summer days.

Our German-style hefeweizen is as traditional as it gets, and don't even think about using a lemon.

DC Brau, in partnership with John "Solly" Solomon and Chris "Beerchief" Frashier, today announced the release of El Hefe Speaks, a specialty Hefeweizen. The beer was brewed at DC Brau Brewing LLC in Washington, D.C. on August 3rd, 2011. "El Hefe Speaks" uses the Weihenstephaner yeast strain, a classic, popular German wheat beer strain used worldwide. John Solomon and Chris Frashier have been a part of the DC brewing community for years. The two worked together at Old Dominion Brewing Co. in Ashburn, VA before opening Solly's U Street Tavern. Frashier brewed at Capital City Brewing Co. for 7 years before brewing at Old Dominion for 5 years. Solomon worked at Old Dominion for a total of 11 years.

A German hefe-weizen (HEFY-VEYT-ZEN). This beer is a traditional unfiltered wheat beer. Imagine the aroma and flavor of cloves, banana and nutmeg,DELICIOUS!

A German Style Hefeweizen. The malts used were 60% Pilsner and 40% Wheat. Spalt hops were used subtly. What makes this wheat beer unique is the yeast strain used. It gives the beer Banana, Clove and citrus flavors. This beer is an unfiltered beer and the large portion of wheat makes this beer very hazy, which is how it’s supposed to be. No lemon is required for this beer. All a lemon does is dissipate the foamy head of the beer. Plus there are no lemon trees in Germany so you wouldn’t catch a German adding a lemon to a finely made Hefe. El Jefe in Spanish means the Boss. This beer truly is "The Boss"!

Light amber-hued hop monster brewed with Mosaic and other American hop varieties. Brewed Vienna malt and flaked corn for smooth malt flavor but a lighter body in this hop WAY forward brew.

Our exploration into the flavors of mole, the legendary sauce of central Mexico. Malty aroma and rich, cocoa-laden body laced with an invigorating tinge of dries chilies and coffee.

Amber in color, this traditional Vienna Style Lager is fermented & lagered with a yeast strain sourced from a very famous brewery in Mexico City. Celebrar el Cinco de Mayo con El Pistolero! Sin lima necesaria.

Randy has experimented for several years with hops grown in the Southern Hemisphere, and has really enjoyed their uniqueness. For this year’s Double IPA he has chosen an Australian hop called Ella because of its has intense aroma characteristics.

Layers of malt provide notes of bread, toast, biscuit, and light caramel. Deep mahogany tones. NOT hoppy. Mellow malt forward beer is a fabulous anytime brew and approachable for all those shy of hops and bitterness.

Grab a can of this Mexican-Style lager, head to the nearest beach, even if it’s imagined, and perhaps he’ll come to you. El Sully (the beer) is available this Fall inside our new 12-can variety pack. El Sully (the legend) is a little harder to find.

A darker ale the more complex and perfumey black raspberry concentrate infused into it... A limited few kegs of these Strong ales and Barleywines which have been brewed over the years have been squirreled away and specially aged for the specific intent of being reintroduce to the public at the Grand Opening of our new brewpub! The purpose of which would be to taste these in small amounts vertically to compare the effects of age over the years on similarly brewed strong beers. Good strong ale matures in a very unique and complex way over the years similar to aging wines. Tasting these types of beers in this way is a special treat. Hope you appreciate them as much as we do.

This style was originally marketed in St. Petersburg. It is strong dark and roasty.
