Gutch is an American twist on the mild English Ale. This Deep red amber ale is highlighted by notes of hazelnut, bittersweet chocolate and toffee. Our blend of foreign and domestic hops bring the malt character forward leaving behind subtle hints of citrus, and spice, and everything nice.

This Ordinary Bitter is a showcase of East Kent Goldings hops + Maris Otter + English Ale Yeast. It’s English. An ode to The Dude.

A filtered IPA with a floral, hoppy aroma. This is our most intensely flavored beer, a fitting example of a dry-hopped British ale.

This big burly ale takes its named from the epic Youtube seriese entitled “Guy On A Buffalo“. “One day the guy on the buffalo was cruisin’ around through the plains. [He] seen a bear, and he thought to himself: ‘Oh man, I gotta get away from the bear! Hope he don’t cha–oh no, he’s gonna chase me! Oh no, I better just turn around and chase him back, because guess what? I’m on a buffalo!’” 7.5% abv.

Named after our CEO and founding father of Three Notch'd, George Kastendike the V, this traditional American IPA packs a punch with the array of American hops used!

Christine celis, daughter of world-renowned Belgian brewmaster Pierre Celis, along with Uncle Billy's Brewery and Austin Java, introduce the world's first dubbel coffee porter. True to the gypsy tradition, this unique beer is crafted in small batches that will last only a short while. This beautifully rich beer features dark caramel malt and a distinctly Belgian dubbel yeast. The effect is a robust yet smooth, deep chestnut-colored porter with demure chocolate undertones from the infusion of organic, cold-pressed Guatemalan and Peruvian coffees. Get it while you can.

Our H&D Fire Captain Irish Red Ale is an tribute to the work our local firefighters do and to the tradition of Irish red ales. Leaning heavily toward the sweet biscuity flavors of malt, this red is true to H&D balance. Hope bitterness is smooth, noble in character, but not overpowering. Body is full and fulfilling. For each pint sold in our taproom we donate $1 to the Firefighter Community Compassion Fund. The FCCF provides each engine in PFA with a petty cash card to provide immediate assistance to families responders realize are in need. As one king falls, another takes his throne. The aromatic reign of Humulus Lupulus (hops) is supported in every sip by resounding and victorious malt flavors. Unlike the intense and aggressive monuments to the prior Rex, this veritable Hop King is upheld by a delightfully textured throne and serves as a beacon to those seeking a balance worthy of prolonged sessions.

H2P is a revamped iteration of the HTP IPA we have done in the past. For H2P this year I changed the recipe from the two previous batches, along with the hops and hop schedule. The past two batches featured Zythos and 7 C's opposite Simcoe. This year and in the future, it will be a single-hop Simcoe IPA. Since it's technically a different beer, but the soul of it is still the same, we are going to call this H2P going forward. As a former Pitt student, I know the Pitt faithful use HTP and H2P interchangeably, so it seemed fitting to change the "T" to a "2" for version 2.0. Inspired by the IPAs I fell in love with in California and deepened my college experience in South Oakland, H2P is a 8.0% west coast-style IPA brewed with four kinds of malted barley and a ridiculous amount of Simcoe hops with five kettle additions and two dry hops. The nose of the beer is rich in pine and fruit notes, with hints passion fruit, apricot, along with woodsy and floral undertones. Medium bodied, this beer starts with a mildly bitter taste that gives way to the pine and fruit notes found in the nose on the back end. H2P is a bright and crisp IPA that was designed to be highly drinkable, exceedingly flavorful and aromatic, but without being abrasively bitter. As production allows, we hope to continue to provide this beer to the Pittsburgh market and the Pitt faithful each year for Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week.
