Helios Ale

(Re) Introducing Helios Ale. We’ve rebranded and repackaged the former V-Saison and now introduce Helios Ale. This bottle conditioned, Belgian-inspired ale remains the same refreshing ale that you enjoyed as V-Saison, however, in a more approachable, less expensive 22 oz capped bottle. Helios Ale has an earthy, aromatic hop start and shifts into aspects of lemon peel and black pepper. This is a quenching, invigorating ale, despite its substantial strength.

Heliostat

Fermentation vessels have this glorious little sample valve, called the "Zwickel" in German. Brewers use this valve to take tastes of the beer as it ferments, to check for progress and quality. And because when you work in a brewery, you drink beer straight from the tanks just because you can. In that spirit, we'll release Heliostat Zwickel Lager in July and August, only on draft. Watch our Facebook,Twitter, and Instagram accounts for announcements. This beer is meant to be enjoyed raw, cloudy, and as fresh as humanly possible. We'll package it, ship it, and bars put it on tap pretty much the minute they receive it. Now you can know for yourself what it's like to drink beer straight from the mother-ship.

Hell

Hell is German for light. A pale-gold lager with bready malt aromas and flavors, floral hop aroma, and a balanced finish. Finally, a Surly beer my German mother will drink. She says this one tastes like a bier from back home. Not unlike a Zwickel Bier from Germany, Hell is not filtered and fermented with lager yeast. American hops takes a back seat to the Pils malt sweetness and fresh bread aroma. The color is well… hell (Deutsch for light). It’s fiendishly drinkable, and you don’t have to sell your soul to get another.

Hell Gate

Inspired by the Tripels and Golden Strong Ales of Belgium, but adding Vienna malt to the traditional Pilsner malt for a slightly maltier and deeper golden color, Hell Gate follows the tradition begun with Duvel of using a devilish name. In this case, that name also references New York’s Hell Gate bridge between Long Island and Manhattan. 8.5 % ABV.
