Hell or High Lager

With the heat of summer well upon us, we decided to brew a Pale Lager to honor the momentous achievement of brewing 3000 batches of beers. Brewed with 100% German Pilsner malt, a classic German pilsner yeast, Hell or High Lager has the crispness you’d expect from a pilsner style beer. But to put a distinctive twist on the style, we brewed Hell or High Lager with all late addition Mosaic hops

Hell or High Watermelon Wheat

Like Lady Liberty, we stand for independence and perseverance. In the pursuit of innovative beer, there is no obstacle too great. No journey too long. No fruit too gigantic. This American wheat beer is brewed with real watermelon, for a flavor that's surprisingly crisp, dry and refreshing—summer in a can. Hell or High Watermelon Wheat is our summer seasonal beer available from April through September in six pack cans and on draft. We start by brewing a classic American wheat beer, which undergoes a traditional secondary fermentation using fresh watermelon. A straw-colored, refreshing beer with a kiss of watermelon aroma and flavor.

Hell's Bottom

Named after one of DC's most notorious neighborhoods, Hell's Bottom. Where in the late 1800's there was little money, whiskey was cheap and virtually no police force. Enter Hell's Bottom Oatmeal Stout. Brewed with a healthy amount of flaked oats, roasted barley and both chocolate and black malts. Hell's Bottom starts with a heavy roast character that will definitely wake up the pallet. Followed by a small kick of bitterness contributed by Northern Brewer hops. Lastly, the flaked oats contribute a smooth, cream-like mouthfeel that must be tasted to be understood. With a medium to light body this oatmeal stout is one that drinks easy in the upcoming spring/ summer season.

Hella Revised

Hella REVISED – A collaborative oat/wheat IPA brewed with our friends from Revision Brewing Co. in Nevada. This IPA was meant to have a soft mouth feel, solid hop flavor, and an intense aroma; all while keeping it clear. We decided on a trio of insane hops; NZ Nelson Sauvin, AU Galaxy, and US Simcoe. A mix of flavors and aromas come from each hops; NZ diesel/dank from the Nelson, intense tropical from the AU Galaxy, and pine/passion fruit/melon from the Simcoe. This IPA was meant to satisfy all.

Helldorado

This is an Imperial Blonde Ale or Blonde Barley Wine. It has the lightest color of the beers in our program but really carries a lot of interesting barrel character: vanilla, light char and amazing lavender honey notes. There is a rich boozy honey liqueur character and loads of smooth sweet toasted malt. The El Dorado hops dance in the back ground and do not play a dominant role in the flavor profile. This beer gets better and better the longer it is in barrel. Very limited draft availability.
