Every Fall we use fresh picked hops from Monroe Maine, to brew a fresh hop IPA. We wait for the grower to let us know when the hops are at their most aromatic, resinous peek and schedule a Hop Harvest brew day. The hops are picked in the morning and add to the beer just after boiling. Hop Harvest has an intense grapefuit, citrus hoppy aroma and flavor. It a Seasonal favorite at the tap room and our favorite brew day!

Pale and pleasant with a smooth bitterness. Freshly hopped with over 7 lbs per barrel of our own Cascade hops grown on-site and brewed from bine to kettle in less than 24 hours.

Hop Head Red is a medium bodied classic red ale. The bitterness and floral aroma are derived from whole flower Amarillo and Summit hops. So if you like hops you must give this one a try.

An uncivilized amount of American hop spiciness gives this rich and satisfying Imperial Black Ale serious complexity. What you get is the best of both worlds – a gnarly brood of malt and hops. Raise your glass to worship…THE HOP – the spice of beer!

First brewed in 2006, Deschutes Brewery’s Hop Henge Experimental IPA reappears this year with more extreme hop flavors than ever before. The new formulation is the epitome of the brewery’s experimental style and commitment to innovation, while gratifying their unquenchable thirst for beautifully balanced hoppy beers. The newest incarnation of Hop Henge uses several new hop processes and techniques to create a truly unique and unexpected beer. Several pounds of Centennial & Cascade hops are in each barrel with a heavy dry-hop presence to top it off. A blend of crystal, pale and carastan malts creates an overall biscuity characteristic that is dense and muscular, building the alcohol base to support the monstrous hop profile. When one of our brewers came up with the name Hop Henge, he also came up with the idea of actually recreating Stonehenge, only with hop bales. We were up for the challenge and even though the weather did not want to cooperate, we pulled it off and threw a party afterwards.

The Evil Thirst has been roving on a drought-ridden planet far away from Earth’s bounties, knowing for survival he must set forth on a long journey in hopes of quenching his endless need for refreshment. However, upon arrival on our fair planet, the villain quickly realizes the initial allure to the blue orb – H2O – will not truly satisfy his yearning. Maddened by his dehydration, he is driven to violent destruction, but soon gets even more than he reckoned for when the mighty Hop Howler emerges uproarious amidst the fertile, green landscape. Not only will the evildoer’s thirst be eternally extinguished, but it will also be satiated with voluminous amounts of aromatic, dank and resinous hops. Hop bombs of flavor from Citra, El Dorado, Jarrylo and Pacific Gem are hurled relentlessly, and explode in bursts to coat Evil Thirst’s alien tongue, rendering him harmless in a state of euphoria. Crisis averted, peace is restored throughout the Universe, as our vociferous hero Hop Howler sounds off one last time with a bellowing cry, offering assurance that all, good or evil, shall never go thirsty again.

Can an IPA be black? Semantics aside, this noir version adds deep roasted malts to alter the hue and slightly smooth the edges. What emerges is something deeper, less orthodox, and all its own. “We’ve brewed 22 batches of this beer at both our Bend and Portland pubs, experimenting on our customers as we perfected the recipe,” said Brewmaster Larry Sidor. “This beer has subtle coffee undertones born from a blend of oats with dark, Munich and crystal malts. Classic IPA flavors and aromas are due to courageous additions of Cascade, Citra and Centennial hops.” Take the plunge – a hop, if you will – into this new Cascadian Dark Ale. Many may never even try to swim for shore.

This Black IPA is jammed with hop flavor from Simcoe and Ahtanum hops with the addition of rye malt to add a smooth finish.

Brewed as a collaboration between MEBC and Lee Chase of Automatic Brewing Company, this IPA will certainly wake up your taste buds! With big bitterness, whole hop flavor and a tantalizing aroma (thanks to a secret dry-hopping regiment), it’ll be up to you to determine that certain “je ne sais quoi”.

What do you do when you’ve already got one of the best craft IPAs? Double down. This hot-blooded thoroughbred pours freshly-polished copper color with a foamy, off-white mane. Centennial, Cascade, and Citra hops supply grapefruit, mandarin orange, and pineapple aromas and flavors, while lightly-roasted Belgian caramel malts add a subtle biscuit aroma and balanced sweetness in the backstretch.

The Terrapin Hop Karma IPA (formerly known as the India Style Brown Ale) is a head on collision between a hoppy, west coast IPA and a complex, malty brown ale.
