King's Shilling

King's Shilling is a special collaboration with Mischief Distilling, using apple brandy they made from our cider, and then aged in their Mischief Bourbon barrels. Fortified to perfection, in this cider, you will find barrel notes of smoke, cinnamon, and vanilla, along with the slight sweetness of apple brandy. THE STORY OF KING'S SHILLING: When drinking with scallywags, check your glass before you bottoms up. Finding a shilling in your glass means you are under contract to crew a pirate's ship? You may unwittingly find yourself swabbing the decks... Never to return.

Kingdom of Tonga Vanilla Porter

The vanilla beans used in this beer come from... you guessed it: The Kingdom of Tonga. Tonga has over 170 islands and is located in the South Pacific. The taste profile is much different than our former Vanilla Porter. Those beans were sweeter; whereas the profile of these beans consists more of fig and raisin. Chocolate and coffee notes (with a subtle caramel touch) set this beer off while the vanilla beans lead into a delightfully dry finish.

Kinglet Bitter

Kinglet Bitter is one of our proud ‘estate’ ciders. It’s all grown at Brightonwoods, within sight of the Winery. It’s more subtle and complex than Barn Swallow – being fermented from 100% bitter English and French cider apples. It differs from an authentic European cider by being ‘immature’. Kinglet has very little post-ferment changes made by wild Lactic Acid Bacteria. Instead, we ferment it with a Sangiovese yeast that we think really brings out the tannin characters of the cider-specific cultivars. These apples are rare, and not easy to grow. When we get the question ‘Then why use them?’, we pour a glass of Kinglet. English and French traditional cider apples. Complex and tannic. Fermented to highlight cultivars and terroir. Subtle apple and tannins, tart, slightly bubbly.

Kings and Spies

Crafted from a blend of Victoria’s heritage apples, we press the apples in the early fall then ferment the juice with a Champagne yeast to induce a malolactic fermentation. The unique aging process yields an aromatic, creamy, Italian-style sparkling cider reminiscent of frizzante Prosecco. Kings & Spies supports Lifecycles, a non-profit that promotes food security and urban agriculture and pairs with everything from crispy potato chips to chicken salad and complex seafood dishes.

KINGS GOLD

In Germany, unlike in the rest of the world, a Lagerbier is always a blond, mild, low-hop quaffing lager. Royal Bavaria’s traditional Munich Lager is a medium bodied, unfiltered, malt emphasized beer with low bitterness. Malt character is reminiscent of freshly and very lightly toasted malt barley, with the typical light golden color.

Kings Mountain

Kings Mountain marks our first debut into Scottish American history. From immortal Claymore wielding highlanders to a decorated list of Presidents, the Scots hold deep roots in our history. Kings Mountain is named after an overwhelming patriot victory in the Revolutionary war fought between forces of both Scot-Patriots and Scot-loyalists. A fitting name for a beer that holds an overwhelming malt filled flavor. Its robust grain bill of malted barley is at the forefront of its taste. Herbert Hoover once said of Kings Mountain, "This is a place of inspiring memories", we hope that you feel the same as you enjoy our Scottish American Ale, Kings Mountain. KINGS WEIZEN

Royal Bavaria’s Weizen or “Wheat” beer has a very characteristic flavor that is produced by the interplay between the Weissbier ale yeasts and the trace elements from the large portion of wheat in the brew’s grain bill. This flavor is variably described as clove-like, banana-like, phenolic, sour, spicy, or even bubblegum-like. Because of the complexity of the Weissbier flavor, these beers are only mildly hopped. This puts them in contrast to many blond lagers such as the Pils/Pilsener, which are fairly strongly hopped for an assertive up-front bitterness.

This Oktoberfest style Marzen is a favorite at the famous Bavarian fall beer festivals. The distinct toasted malt flavor of this amber lager finishes quite crisp due to the extensive lagering of this beer. One sip and you'll swear you're in Munich. Kirin Ichiban

Kirin Ichiban has been brewed to the same levels of distinction since 1888. The “beer at its purest” of the brewing world, Ichiban Shibori brewing process ensures that only the first press of the finest ingredients is used. This simplistic approach results in a uniquely impactful flavour and depth of character whilst retaining a highly refreshing nature. Kirin Ichiban is named after the kirin, a creature in Chinese mythology. It has the body of a deer, the tail of an ox and the hooves of a horse. With a single horn on its head and a pelt of five colours, the kirin symbolises well-being and good fortune. Kirin has a clear, bright golden colour, citrus and toasty biscuit aromas and an initial, crisp refreshing bite, leading into a surprising depth of flavour on the palate, and intensely satisfying clean finish. Serve Kirin in its signature glass – try it alongside oysters, sushi rolls, Singapore noodles, seared tuna or crispy grilled seabass.
