La Rouge Flamande est le nom d'une race de vaches laitières. La bière, elle, a vu le jour le 28 mars 1999 lors de l'inauguration d'une statue de l'animal, à Bergues. Brassée pour cette occasion à la demande des éleveurs, cette bière d'un jour s'est naturellement installée comme spécialité flamande. "Plutôt ambrée de robe, son petit nez d'écorces d'agrumes (...) une mousse au goût de noisette grillée. Belgian Brown Ale

A very refreshing and very hoppy blond (45 EBU). Probably the most amazing and most refreshing of our beers. Both terrace and beer tasting beer.

A golden blonde with the body and frank bitterness What makes a triple reference. This beer received a Coq de Cristal at the Agricultural Fair Libramont 2006.

With the dawning of Spring comes the festival season and a great time to enjoy La Saison des Festivals. With overwhelming tones of grapefruit, this saison is crisp, dry and beautifully simple. No clove here. The beer begins with an intense citrus aroma leading to a slightly peppery finish. The perfect balance between tart and sweet, La Saison des Festivals gives you shade in the day and keeps you warm at night. We're not sure what that last bit really means, but it sounds great doesn't it? Servir froid avec de bons amis.

A dark saison for the tenebrous winter months. The solution to all your winter blues, this saison procures a tart sapidity and full body. Reddish-brown in color, this brew possesses notes of plum, cranberry, and currants yielding a dark acidity. Roasty and toasted characteristics give way to hints of oak, clove and vanilla on the finish.

Brewed with wheat- and barley malt, La Salamandre is a beer with a bloomy and tangy bouquet. On the palate, the subtle hints of yeast render the beer creamy with a tad o’ tartness, which is typical for wheat beers. The finish is hardly bitter, but racy, with a taste of bitter orange zest and discrete hops.

Beer was brewed with 250 pounds of malt that was smoked by John Lewis of La Barbecue in Austin, TX

Blueberry Sour Ale

La Torpille is a Brown Ale with an aromatic fruity bouquet that includes notes of caramel, reminiscent of aromas of vintage wines from the Côtes-Rôties. On the palate, the taste is mild with hints of alcohol. The finish is semi bitter and aromatic in the nose.

In Batch 11 Malbec barrels were used, though a rather large portion of Quadrupel aged on new wood has been added too. This batch is quite complex. The aroma of the Malbec is very noticable, lots of oak flavours from medium toast, and vanilla and almond from high toast barrels, floral aromas from Acasia and obviously the beer aromas from the quadrupel. Very robust and rich in tannins, which warrants a bit of extra maturation in the bottle to let the complexity increase and the flavour become rounder. While the red wine influence is noticable, the wood has the dominant note. A must for everyone who likes heavy beer and/or wine with lots of wood flavour and aroma. 55% Used Malbec barrels 20% New French oak, medium toast 20% New French oak, high toast 5% Acacia wood.

BATCH 7 is blended in June 2011 and is the first batch (of two) that has matured in old whiskey barrels. These barrels come from different whiskey distilleries such as Bowmore, Tamdhu, Strathspey and Laphroaig (Johnstons). The aroma’s of the whiskeys have an obvious impact on the final flavor. This flavor is remarkable and clearly different from those of previous batches. Peat and burnt are more present, while wood and wood tannins are less obvious to spot. But the warming effect of the full, robust flavor the whiskey barrels passed on to our already beautiful Quadrupel, makes this batch maybe even the most tasty brewed to date.

A Belgian dark strong ale--rich, malty and dark in color, complex flavors with notes of caramel and tons of dried fruit. Moderately high in alcohol, limited release.
