Centennial Cascade and Citra hops with a big malt backbone

The key to this brown ale is the combination of dark caramel malts, chocolate malts, and just a touch of black patent malt. It boasts three different English hops. The combination of all these ingredients makes a darker style beer that is very easy to drink, even on a hot day.

Musette is Allagash’s newest release in our Barrel Aged Series. The beer, inspired by the Scotch ale style, is a traditional and popular style in Belgium. Typically known as a dark and sweet, strong ale, Scotch ales are rarely brewed in Scotland anymore but still remain popular in Belgium, where they were originally thought to have been brewed for servicemen during World War I. Our interpretation of a Belgian-inspired Scotch ale, Musette undergoes a caramelization process in the kettle, where the first runnings are condensed and caramelized, imparting a unique and subtle caramel character and amber color to the beer. Following fermentation with a Belgian strain of yeast, a portion of it is aged in oak bourbon barrels for an additional three months. Musette offers up raisin, ripened banana, and hints of licorice aromas. Its taste is malty and caramel with a hint of roast, and its warm finish strikes a balance between dry and caramel characters with a hint of smoke.

On October 17, 1814, in Giles Parish, London, a 22-foot-tall wooden porter tank ruptured, causing the surrounding vessels to burst, releasing an estimated 323 gallons of house-destroying porter tidal wave. Porters were the overwhelming ale of choice for the London working class. Mushy P. pays homage to this English brewing tradition with complex roastiness and robust flavor.

The arrival of a Northern winter calls for a flavourful and warming seasonal brew. Our Muskoka Double Chocolate Cranberry Stout is a rich and sturdy stout brewed with roasted dark chocolate malts, real cocoa, a hint of vanilla and freshly harvested local cranberries. The increased alcohol content encourages sharing and savouring this special seasonal brew.

My Antonia started out as a Collaboration beer when Sam brewed it at Birra del Borgo (hope you can read Italian) outside Rome, Italy with owner/brewer Leonardo DiVencenzo in October of 2008. In 2010, we began brewing My Antonia here at Dogfish Head brewery in Delaware for U.S. distribution. My Antonia (named after the Willa Cather read), is a continually-hopped imperial pilsner.

Deep gold in colour with incredible aromas of citrus, tropical fruits and mango, My Bitter Wife is an IPA for the serious hop-heads out there. Full bodied, subtle malt notes with a pleasant and balanced bitterness obtained using some Simcoe, Columbus and Centennial hops, it finishes dry with a lingering hop presence that leaves you wanting more. My Bitter Wife will be sure to awaken your senses with each sip.

Notes of caramel, toast, and bittersweet chocolate balance an intense bouquet of floral hop aromas that we know you’ll fall in love with. A delightfully refreshing tartness is the perfect accent to this off-style, lightly dry hopped wheat based ale. The wort was subjected to a short lactobacillus fermentation to impart a tang from the lactic acid. Tangerine and citrus flavors from Mandarina Bavaria, a new German hop variety, pair well with the pucker that defines this tart wheat ale.
