A deep, malt forward red ale. Dry hopped with Centennial hops.

Red Ale (March – May) is brewed with British pale and crystal malts, Sterling hops, and an ale yeast from California. This ale has a rich ruby color, lacy collar, and a pronounced caramel flavor. Try it with traditional Irish fare or a sweet and pleasant cow’s milk cheese called Dubliner that can be found in most grocery stores.

American style red or amber ale. This beer is brewed with a good amount of crystal malt to create the red color and the toffee carmel notes in the flavor. Some German munich malt was also used to add to the malt character. The hops used are 100% American with a blend of Willamette and Centennial for bitterness, flavor and aroma. The overall experience is a mildly hoppy brew with a solid malt background.

The sinister stepchild of our Brewhouse Rarities series, this Red Ale has one chain of numbers that we cannot forget: 666. [Please note: Reading that last sentence in an '80s horror film trailer voice makes it 10 times more intense.] When we embarked on this Brewhouse Rarities series, our brewers set out to produce beers that are truly “too weird to live, too rare to die.” If the sheer number of ingredients in this Red Ale isn’t enough, it’s also the first beer we double dry hopped. In fact, there are 3 pounds of hops per barrel, which is more than our Double Dog Double Pale Ale. Red Ale is a balancing act of malt and hop, resulting in deliciously danky and citrusy hop notes on the nose, followed by a sweet caramel body with hints of grapefruit and spice.

Medium bodied, copper toned ale with a hint of toasted bread and slight caramel taste from the pale and crystal malts used. Balancing hop bitterness and mild resinous hop aroma from the estate grown hops.

Modeled after a classic "mild" ale with low hopping and alcohol for easy drinking.

A local “flavorite!” Perennial NM State Fair winner. Like apple juice champagne. Dry, light and crisp.

Irish Red Ale

Named after the town and county’s name sake, Maj. McHenry Irish Red is an easy-drinking pint. Maj McHenry was a pioneer statesman, soldier and spy who garnered honors for dispelling American Indians and propelling the territory to statehood. Our Irish Red is malt-focused with an initial sweetness and a roasted dryness in the finish.

A hardy beer befitting the celebration and the man it commemorates, Red Baron Octoberfest is a dark lager brewed in the traditional Vienna style. Vienna and Munich malts give our Octoberfest a toasty, dry flavor and ruddy brown color that warm the heart when the leaves begin to fall.

A brutal, bitter, bastard of an double IPA. Some say I went to far with the chinook hops when brewing this.....I say I didn't go far enough. This is not for the faint at heart or the uppity light beer drinkers of the world. 8.5% abv. with IBU's to high to count. Drink at your own peril.

Who said beer wasn’t good for you? Well, this one has fruit in it! Red raspberries and red currants to be exact. This specialty fruit beer has a sweet but tart flavor that will keep you coming back for more.

India-Style Session Ale

This classic steam ale is crafted after a Portsmouth Brewing Co. recipe dating back to the late 1800's. The gorgeous red color comes from roasted caramel malt which is paired with domestic hops for our most popular ale.

A deep crimson beer with a beige head that bursts with aromas of pine and mandarin orange. This medium bodied ale was designed to balance sweet caramel and toasted malt flavors against an assertive bitterness. This delicious double red ale pairs perfectly with a hike in the Northwest forest.

Art thou the Bird Whom Man loves Best, The pious Bird with the Scarlet Breast 'William Wordsworth' Brewed with two English whole cone hops and natural coloured malt giving a chestnut red hue to the beer. Redbreast drinks with a full flavour and a warming glow.

Dark copper color with bronze rims. Very thick foam, persistent. Nice and elegant toffee aromas with spices and roasted almonds, very persistent and evolving on brewed coffee. Very franc in the mouth. Black fruits, plum with more intense spicy notes of canella and cloves. The texture is very delicate. The beer seems to have all characters for a beer with personality but is kind of dissociated having intense flavors at first, then some emptiness in the middle of the mouth and finishing with a bitter finish.
