This is a nicely balanced beer and at 72 IBU’s it has a nice mouthful of hops but they do not overpower the multiple layers of flavors. A perfect balance with a spicy rye backdrop, strands of caramel malt, floral and citrus hops & spicy rye flow through with a good dry bitterness. This is an unfiltered ale brewed with Rye malt (hence its reddish color, and its name). Cascade and Centennial hops were used for floral and citrus notes while Magnum hops were used for bittering. Red Rye is a complex beer featuring several flavorful layers. Smoked malt supports the subtle spice of rye and an overall sweet malt bill, while solid hop aromas shine through to make a truly dynamic and rich red ale.

This beer is a hybrid German Rye Lager with light to moderate spiced rye aromas and flavors. The low bitterness allows an initial malty and bready sweetness with slight caramel notes, similar to a red lager, which then fade away to the unique characteristic of rye malt. Hops: German Noble Hops

A deep reddish brew with medium body and carbonation. This toasty, malty, and dry pale ale has a depth of hop taste and roasty notes in the palate and finish and blends the rich malty character of an Amber Ale, the crisp hops of an American Pale Ale, and the roasty, nutty flavors of an English Brown. The Red Snapper recipe was conceived as a home brew recipe in Matt & Rene’s Ypsilanti kitchen long before it became commercially available. Named after good friend and fellow ultimate Frisbee player Don “Red Snapper” Staub, it was first “released” to much approval at the 1992 Poultry Days Chicken Festival and Frisbee Tournament in Versailles Ohio.

Lawson’s winter holiday ale is a special bitter brewed with Maine-grown barely, Liberty hops, real sprigs of Red Spruce picked from trees at the brewery, a dash of cinnamon & fermeneted with an English-style yeast. Our long term fall seasonal beer, this Rustic Belgian Style Farmhouse ale is brewed with Floor Malted Pils, Spelt, Munich, Acidulated malts and unmalted and Red Wheat provides a malty sweetness. A light herbal hop aroma from the Saaz and spicy phenols from the Belgian yeast.

A wild and sour session IPA. Brewed with three heavily fruity hops, coriander, and tangerine zest the profile is definitely American in focus. Aged in French Oak Chardonnay barrels with souring Lactobacillus, funky Brettanomyces yeast, and dry-hopped in each individual barrel. This beer is a definite wow moment.

A rich mixture of specialty malts added to a base British pale malt infuses this Irish Red Ale with a deep flavor and a subtle red color. English hops and an Irish yeast ensure that the malts carry the day for Red Tag Ale.

Carmel malts blend with a generous hop character to create a well balanced American red beer.
