A hoppy helles bock collaboration brew between The Brew Kettle and Willoughby Brewing Company for Cleveland Beer Week 2012.

Those Krauts and their rules, right? With the 'only water, barley, hops and yeast' and their 'it has to be brewed in Koooln if ya call it Koooolsch.' To that, I say 'FOOEY!' . We used the finest German Pilsen and dashes of Munich and Wheat malts. We fermented cool with a clean little European Ale yeast. We only added a handful of American hops for balance. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they weren't NOOble hops. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're in KenTUCKy. We get it, and we think we named this beer in the spirit a what we think about all that. So THERE

100 IBU A burly, black bear of a beer that pours thick and black with a deep brown head. The aroma is a mix of roasty grains, bitter chocolate and stone fruit. The flavor is rich with dark chocolate, coffee and dried fruit with a stiff hop backbone. The finish is thick and chewy, leaving your mouth bathed in roasty goodness.

Every now and then a beer can capture more than just flavors, it can capture an idea. This beer does just that, being inspired by the Southwest. Although the inspiration may have seemed far away, local companies helped make it a reality. Mesquite smoked malt from Pilot Malthouse and hops from Big Mitten Hops gave a rich full flavored addition to the beer. Beans went into the beer as it was being brewed to add a wonderfully complex and truly unique mouthfeel. And to top it all off, a subtle dry hopping of chipotle and ancho peppers marry the whole experience. A full bodied red ale with nuances of smokiness and just the softest touch of spice in the background make this beer something to remember.

Remmy is a semi-dry cider made from a late season blend of Northern Michigan apples.

VS is a Russian Imperial Stout named after a gunfight that ensued at George Remus' Death Valley Farm on Queen City Ave. in Cincinnati, Ohio. This Imperial Stout has a thick and chewy mouthfeel. Underlying the sweetness are notes of baker's chocolate and tobacco. Earthy hops and local maple syrup round out the finish. The only thing more stout was Remus himself.

Deep red in color, this classic Mild has a nutty taste with a gentle roast malt aroma.

Renee IPA is a Michigan-grown product in honor of the life of Renee Stanford. The barley used was grown and malted in Shepard, MI by Wendell Banks and the hops came from Empire Orchards and Hop Farms in Empire, MI. In memory of a dear friend and former employee, Renee Stanford, we brewed Renee IPA. ALL proceeds of each pint sold go directly to her family’s fund.
