Red may be retired, but his ale is hard at work! The Retired Red’s Ale is malt-forward, with high levels of Caracrystal Wheat giving this American Amber intense red flavors and terrific toastiness, and Munich Malt infusing the brew with residual sweetness. Cascade and Columbus hops provide low to moderate hop levels in this classic craft concoction. This beer looks as good as it tastes, and it looks pretty darn good. IBU: 29. This American India Pale Ale (IPA) is a nod to the classic American hops Cascade and Centennial which helped fuel the craft brewing industry growth during the 1980's. Built on a gentle yet noticeable base of American 2 row malt, plus small amounts of Munich and Carapils malts, this IPA builds slowly from a soft, citrus fruit nose to a flavorful, orange/grapefruit dry finish. With so many new hop varieties available today which all produce excellent IPA's, we didn't want the classic hops to go forgotten.

REUNION ‘10— Belgian-Style Scotch Ale. Terrapin Beer Co. and Taco Mac are once again participating in the Reunion: A Beer for Hope fund-raising campaign. The Campaign raises funds to support The Institute for Myeloma & Bone Cancer Research in the name of Virginia MacLean who succumbed to the disease in 2007. This year’s beer is a Belgian-Style Scotch Ale – a nod to Virginia’s Scottish heritage. The beer boasts a deep amber color with a rich malt palate and subdued hop notes in the finish. We used an authentic Belgian yeast strain for complexity. The beer will be available in 22oz bottles and will be features on draft at Taco Mac restaurants in Georgia later this summer.

Teaming up with Schmaltz Brewing for the third time, Terrapin Beer co. returns for a fifth year as a production partner for Reunion '13. We brew Reunion each year in loving memory of our dear friend and partner in this venture - Virginia MacLean. Virginia lost her battle with Multiple Myeloma in 2007. It was her wish that we continue to raise funds and awareness on behalf of the Institute for Myeloma & Bone Cancer Research (www.imbcr.org). ~This year's beer is a dark ale brewed with cocoa nibs, vanilla, cinnamon and coffee. It was inspired by a fantastic desert that we used to share with Virginia at our favorite restaurant. The Brown ale leads with a bold coffee and subtle cinnamon aroma. Complex malt overtones quickly give way to a chocolate, coffee and vanilla mix of satisfying bliss. ~ Many thanks to all who have supported this project and have helped us honor Virginia’s memory. ~ Cheers - Pete & Alan

Our flagship brew, born out of a comedy of errors. First, Rob added homegrown Cascade, Simcoe and Citra hops at precisely the wrong time. Then Norm went rogue and threw in a little unintended chocolate malt. Dark and rich, yet surprising light on your palate, this English-style IPA starts with the goodness of Maris Otter English barley and finishes citrusy with aromas of grapefruit. What you taste is not what you expect, and that’s what makes it such a great revelation.

Revelator is a light, citrusy, dry-hopped Pale Ale that was made with the southern Fall in mind. Fall in the south is often more like an extension of summer, just with a different change of perspective. Revelator provides enough complexity and bitterness to welcome the coming colder months, while remaining balanced and multi-layered Aromatic and flavor profiles are largely contributed from an extremely generous Galaxy dry hop, which provides layers of passionfruit, peach, and other tropical fruits, while herbal and grassy notes provide a crisp backbone.

The first beer made exclusively for Beer for Beasts. This beer, made by brewers Ian McConnell and Shane Welch, is a hoppy, nutty American-style Brown Ale fermented with an Antwerp ale yeast at cold temperatures to give it a lager-like flavor. Simcoe and Sterling hops dominate the flavor profile.

Reverend Potter’s Baltic Porter is a full flavored dark lager which owes its heritage to the influence of the dark ales of England and cool fermented in the tradition of Eastern Europe. Generously hopped for balance, this beer hides its strength well, so watch out when imbibing near that warm New England fireplace on a cold eve.
