She's So Wee Heavy

“I Want You” was the last song John recorded as a Beatle. It’s a little known fact that John was actually singing about his love affair with Scotland’s highest strength beer of the old shilling system. John loved the heavy malt backbone, deep copper color and strong, nutty, biscuit notes of these Scotch Ales. She’s So Wee Heavy starts with a creamy tan head, showcases raisin and plum brought about by kettle caramelization and finishes with a smooth, alcoholic warmth.

Shed Stout

This is an imperial stout that was specially created for the Watershed Pub's 1st anniversary! Brewed with heavy roasted barley, this stout finishes a little dry. There is also a hint of smoke from oak smoked wheat, classic black malt, a touch of regular wheat, and roasted barley. Hopped with East Kent Goldings and Czech Saaz. The Watershed chose Hale's for their first collaboration brew and intend to do a new collaboration brew for each new anniversary going forward. Some will be going into whiskey barrels for aging and some of the batch will be turned into an oyster stout for fun-- did you know that both oysters and stouts were viewed as health tonics in the 1700s?

Sheep Eater

Scotch Ales are some of the world's most flavorful beers. The specially roasted and kilned malts used in the mash impart roasted, caramel, and raisin sweetness to the flavor profile. Our ale is brewed with black roasted barley and peat-smoked malt, adding even more complexity to the palate. It is gently hopped, fermented cool and aged cold for exceptional smoothness. The result is a copper-brown color and a pleasant mouthfeel and body.

Sheep Shagger Scotch Ale

Sheep Shagger Scotch Ale is rich, malty and full-bodied. Brewed with specially roasted malts for a complex blend of caramel and toffee flavors and a subtle peaty character. Colonel Carmichael, an educated and accomplished Scotchman, settled in Lake Mills in 1844. He selected a location at the head of Rock Lake, which he stocked quite largely with sheep, intending to make a sheep farm of the place. He had five hundred sheep driven in from Ohio and shepherds with their dogs and crooks come clear from Scotland. We can picture it now, the Colonel relaxing on the back porch with a Sheep Shagger Scotch Ale in hand, looking onto his fields and watching his shepherds shagging sheep for shearing. (Shagging means retrieving... What were you thinking?)

Sheep Stealer Saison

A traditionally brewed Saison, Sheep Stealer is dry, crisp and refreshing, with a complex aroma and flavour. Pours a cloudy golden orange, with a big pilowy white head, which slowly deflates to a lingering lace. A full aroma of spice, malt sweetness and a certain unmistakable earthy Saison “funk” first greet the nose. Aromas of citrus fruit and summer flowers, from the late English Noble Hop additions, further excite the palate. A sharp tartness is counterbalanced by a lingering malt sweetness, and a lively tongue tingling carbonation. Notes of stone fruit, citrus, and black pepper compliment each other as a subtle hop bitterness, and a distinct yeast derived spiciness round out the Sheep Stealer experience.

Shegöat - Preservation Series

Shegöat is a brand new beer to our lineup, based on one of Patrick's original, multiple award winning homebrew recipes. Based primarily on the traditional weizenbock style of Germany, brewed with both malted barley and wheat, the beer is rich in the flavors of bananas, cloves and caramel with a notes of cake spice hovering in the background. Just like the banana bread that großmutter used to make.

Shenanigans

Our spirited brewers diligently cultivate recipes on our pilot brewing playground. Sometimes, things don’t turn out as planned…they turn out better. Destined for another adventure, this delightful crimson ale is aged in oak with just a touch of Brettanomyces. The subtle Brett tartness balances the rich amber malt with hints of dried fruit and light citrus. Our ode to the happy accident, Shenanigans was just too good not to share.
