At Fieldwork we constantly brew with a 'go for everything or nothing' disposition; to pull out the stops and go for broke. In a beer world where the wild, the audacious, and the obscene are often the target of our liquid admiration, sometimes the bold and daring move is to retreat to the simple, the classic, and the hard to hide behind. Shoot The Moon is exactly that, a classic American Stout that we Fieldworkify by building up a bit more body, with a bit less bitterness and astringency, and then swap out the old school hops for a restrained and balanced dose of Citra. The result is a chewy and drinkable Citra Stout that strikes a unique balance between rich milk-chocolatey notes with hop-induced bright orange peel flavors. A classic flavor profile merged with a classic style, brewed in a non-classic manner; Shoot The Moon Citra Stout will show what uniqueness might lay in balance and subtlety.

A Northern English style Nut Brown that pours a deep amber brown color. It is a medium bodied ale brewed with generous amounts of roasted malts. There are notes of pecan sweetness on the nose and nut and toffee flavors on the palate. It is a nice malty ale that is not too sweet and finishes dry.

Good things happen when you have a good time with good people. In The Garage, we call this “shoptalk” — sharing stories, ideas, and dreams with our friends. That’s what we did with Widmer Brothers in Portland, Oregon to collaborate on this Imperial IPA. Shoptalk features a bigger body, more alcohol and more overall bitterness than a standard IPA. While working with the Widmer Brothers team, we decided to use a hop combination of new and experimental hops to create a pungent tropical fruit aroma and flavor including grapefruit, tangerine, currants, and a slight hint of pine. Unlike our other beers, this beer was not meant to be balanced – the focus is all on the hops.

Shore Leave Honey Brown is a richer, fuller version of a traditional brown ale. We begin with a recipe filled with pale ale and crystal malts. To this we add a touch of rye for spiciness and chocolate malt for color and depth. We finish with a good dose of honey from local Southwest Michigan beekeepers. The result is an ale with a deep caramel and toffee flavors. The residual sweetness and honey flavors are balanced with a selection of American Hops.

This is a sessionable American pale ale with lots of hops, including loads of Cascade hops, giving this beer great citrus and grapefruit aroma and flavors.

American style IPA delivering the aroma of cascade hops with a hint of malt. Leads with nutty citrus notes followed by a mildly toasty malt with a short grapefruit finish.

Following traditional German law, our classic hef is made with a mashbill of 50% wheat malt. The yeast lends strong banana phenols and spicy esters with just a hint of vanilla in the background. Some extra Munich malt gives our hef a beautiful copper color. When it’s too hot for pants, it’s time for Short Pants.

This double IPA has a light malt backbone that lays a somewhat blank canvas for the hops to shine. 72 pounds of hops are used in this beer throughout the process, and is continuously dry-hopped at the end of fermentation. Notes of pineapple and orange zest are showcased in the aroma and flavor.

Slight to moderate grainy medium wheat flavor which may linger, crisp to sharp finish, body and aroma.

With a cold pressed proprietary blend of rich ground coffee beans, we've crafted a wholly original coffee stout that is both rich in coffee tones and eminently drinkable. The shotgun house is a New Orleans classic. Fire a shotgun through the front door and it will pass out the back door and never touch a wall... or so the story goes. Shotgun Double IPA is wall-to-wall hops with plenty of pale malt. First hopped in the brewhouse with multiple varieties, including Amarillo, then dry hopped with Simcoe, Sitra and Cascade. A blast of intense flavors and aromas of pine, citrus and tropical fruit.

Showdown is an IPA reimagined. With a heaping addition of hardy rye, this copper-hued beauty delivers an unmistakable spicy rye character, while a burly dose of American hops evokes the piney aroma of untamed wilderness. Balanced, bold, and brave, Showdown claims the prize.

Pouring a luscious deep ruby color, this Red IPA uses a 50-50 blend of Simcoe and Citra hops. Expect piney, resinous notes that blend with a lingering citrus, grapefruit rind bitterness to create an intense hop nectar full of juicy flavors that will stick with you.
