SMOKIN' BEECH Bamberg-Style Rauchbier

Based upon the original German Rauchbier, SMOKIN' BEECH stays true to its heritage. A melding of the two original Bamberg Rauchs, this lager conjures the best of both rival brews. Munich and Beechwood Smoked Malts blend to create a brew that is not overly smokey, but compliments the rich malty sweetness inherent to the traditional style. Properly proportioned and balanced accordingly...it's smokin'!

Smoky Bob

In Northeast Bavaria, one of the local specialties is Rauch, or smoked, Beer. We decided that it would be fun to see what we could do with this style. While not as smoky as some beers from Germany, this beer shows a little smokiness in the nose, along with some malty notes (there were no finishing hops in this beer, so no hop aroma). On the palate, the malt and smoke interplay with each other, with the dextrins combining with the smoke to bring out an almost bacon-y flavor. The finish is crisp and savory, inviting you back for another sip. (1.014 BG, 5.25%, 25 IBU, 9 SRM)

Smooth Criminal

Ever accidentally blend two brews, curse a bit, and then smile when tasting the excellent result? Us too. Smooth Criminal is the splendid result of moving a bit too quickly in the brewhouse. An accidental addition of Saison De Lente to a fermenter full of our Anniversary ale led us to ask, "Anni, are you okay?" She was. Smooth Criminal showcases rich malt, flavorful hops and oaky goodness in a harmoniously unique ale.

Smooth Hoperator

This medium bodied copper colored strong lager is in a class all by itself. First released in celebration of our 20th Anniversary. Ed Stoudt calls this beer an "American-style Doppelbock" He believes it to be the first high gravity lager brewed with German Malts and American Hops. This brew has a delicate malty palate up front, which is abruptly overshadowed by the dominating ho presence that can be attributed to 1.5lbs/bbl of hops that were added to this brew for aroma & flavor. A hop lover's beer indeed.
