Taylor's Row

Connecting with local history is very important to us at Manor Hill. So to show our support for the Old Ellicott City revival and commemorate the opening of Manor Hill Tavern, in the historic “Taylor’s Row” section of Old Ellicott City, we have decided to bring back Volume 2 from our limited release Hidden Hopyard Series. For this brew we used locally sourced rye malt from Copper Fox Distillery. Aggressively hopped with Simcoe, Centennial and CTZ, this American IPA boasts a big grapefruit aroma that is followed by a juicy mouthfeel and resiny finish.

What happens when you mix the hop profile of a Pale Ale with the yeast characteristics of a Saison? Well that’s what we wanted to find out. This first experiment into a new hybrid style (for us) uses Zythos and Soraci Ace hops to add a touch of lemon character to the earthy, spicy Saison yeast. A touch of carmel malt rounds out the Pale Ale backbone of an otherwise very dry farmhouse beer.

Tea Party Pale Ale

In making our signature pale ale we knew we wanted to do something different. We needed something that stood out, complimented the subtleness of our pale ale, and said we will a pale ale like no other - whole leaf tea was the perfect ingredient. We then looked to the Sorachi Ace hop to produce a unique lemon flavor to compliment the tea. An incredible amount of tea goes into this beer so much so our brewers have a tough time getting the whole leaf tea out when done (picture the tea party men tossing chests of tea overboard). We named it Tea Party Pale Ale because the flavors seen to dance on your tongue and they stand strong in a sea of mediocrity.
