A mountain divides us, but we think we’ve come together to create something delicious during this Long Distance Relationship. A Wit style beer brewed with blueberries and a massive dry hop, Long Distance Relationship is a collaboration between Brothers Craft Brewing and Star Hill Brewing out of Crozet, Virginia. A refreshing beer perfect for summer drinking, Long Distance Relationship is light and refreshing, and features a fruity taste with the addition of blueberries and some big, bold hop aromas. Salvation. The name of two intricate Belgian-style ales created by us, Vinnie Cilurzo of Russian River Brewing and Adam Avery of Avery Brewing. After becoming friends a few years ago, we realized that we both had a Salvation in our line-ups. Was it going to be a problem? Should one of us relinquish the rights? "Hell no!" we said. In fact, it was quickly decided that we should blend the brews to catch the best qualities of each and create an even more complex libation. In April 2004, in top-secret meeting at Russian River Brewing (well actually it was packed in the pub, and many were looking over our shoulders wondering what the hell was going on), we came up with the perfect blend of the two Salvations. Natalie, Vinnie’s much more significant other, exclaimed, "We should call this Collaboration, not Litigation Ale!" "Perfect!" we shouted. We celebrated deep into the night, (or is it morning?). Fast forward to November 14, 2006. After talking about it for over 2 years we finally decided to pull the trigger and Vinnie flew out to Avery to brew his Salvation exactly as he does in his brewery. This was blended with Avery’s Salvation December 11th, 2006. We hope you enjoy it as much we enjoyed brewing and blending it.

Our flagship Points North Porter with Blonde coffee from NC’s Ingenious Coffee Roasters added to the fermentation. A Delicious blend of roasted malts, hops and great local coffee.

This lager has a clean profile with a touch of sweet malt character, balanced with a floral hop aroma and slightly spicy hop flavor. Light, refreshing, and easy drinking, this beer is the perfect accompaniment for a bit of R&R, any time of year.

Brewed with traditional harvest grains, Surette is a provision Saison with a tart and vinous character from extended barrel aging.

This New World take on the lowest-alcohol variety of monastic, European abbey ales is crafted to be highly drinkable and light in body, but big on floral and spice character imparted by our house Belgian yeast strain. The Damsel emulates beers brewed by monks as a means of (delicious) sustenance. The Damsel often falls victim to unfortunate circumstances, but we always come to her eventual rescue and get her back to our tasting room.

Playing off the lyrics for Alabama’s “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas”, our brewmaster Travis Smith says, “If you’re gonna brew in San Diego, you gotta have an IPA!” This one harnesses the attributes of a trio of hops that stood out when tested via The Bachelor Single-Hop IPA—Eureka, Idaho 7 and Simcoe—to bring a piney, citrusy, dank addition to our family of hop-driven beers. The Fiddler takes center stage in our tasting room as the mood suits him, and we’re always ready for an encore performance.

The Henchman is a copper ale matured in wine barrels and rested on apricots and peaches. Very limited quantities of this special beer were made for Societe's 5th Anniversary, however, there is talk of it making a return for another round.

Rather than assault the senses, The Highwayman takes over imbibers’ palates with finesse, engaging the olfactory with a bouquet blending barnyard, horse-stable and citrus orchards. Those evocative scents are followed on the taste buds by simultaneously fruity, vinous, spicy flavors punctuated by earthy funk imparted by a slow-burning strain of Brettanomyces. The Highwayman is currently available in 500-milliliter bottles, exclusively in our tasting room while supplies last.

More hops than should be afforded on any one beer are packed into every stage of the brewing process for our triple India pale ale, producing a brawny yet fluid quaff with illustrious aromatics of stone-fruit and pine, followed by bold citrus and tropical-fruit flavors. The Miser is one of the rarest visitors to our tasting room, so when he shows up, it’s advised you catch him as quickly as you can.

The Spelunker is a brown ale with a light yet deliciously discernible hop profile that we brew each autumn in support of Pints for Prostates, a non-profit organization committed to raising awareness about prostate cancer and encouraging beer lovers to get checked (or as we put it “get spelunked”) on a regular basis to catch this scourge in its early stages. Look for The Spelunker to mine his way onto our beer-board for his annual visit (like the one you can make with your proctologist) come the fall.
