Green Zebra

Subtly sour and a little sweet, this ale is a refreshing take on a nearly extinct German style, gose. Watermelon is the highlight of this lightly-hopped treat and gives it a hint of satisfying juiciness. The soft mouthfeel and dry finish comes courtesy of the addition of sea salt, a traditional gose ingredient.

Sharks Patrol These Waters

Blood red Belgian ale with hibiscus flowers and herbs Shark Week begins on Sunday, July 23rd! Our resident Shark Fanatic/Brewer, Lee Lord, joined the rest of the Brew Crew at CBC to create this special single-batch beer. What began as a simple blonde ale quickly turned blood red from the frenzied (!) additions of Hibiscus flowers, Elderberry, and Beet powder. Additional flavor was contributed by Lemongrass, Lemon Balm, and Lemon Verbena, offering a very subtle citrusy and herbal character. With an obvious nod to Boston low-rocker pioneers Morphine, this beer is full-bodied up front, and finishes dry and refreshing. So don’t worry about the Day-Glo orange life preserver (it won’t save you), just grab a beer and enjoy the summer!

Debut 13: Farmhouse IPA

Farmhouse IPA is the spunky, hopped-up cousin of saison. A light malt bill and dry French Saison yeast form a crisp and clean saison base. Citra and Galaxy hops blast this base and accentuate the fruity yeast esters creating a perfect, go-to IPA for the summer.

Exit 12 Maibock

Here we celebrate spring at Exit 12, a place where many German immigrants settled in the 19th and 20th centuries. German beer cultur always celebrates the season with a Maibock – a beer that balances the richness of winter beers with the lightness of warmer weather offerings. Our version is a rich, full-bodied straw colored lager showcasing pilsner malt and German noble hops. Malt flavors and aromas predominate while the hops add spicy overtones, but little bitterness.

Peacher Man

We took last year’s Peacher man and made it more sessionable and refreshing for the summer months. ABV is dropped to 5% and dry hop and spices are removed to let the yeast and fruit flavours really come through. We also added a lot of apricot to support the more subtle peach aromatics. Overall it has 120% more fruit than last year. Peacher Man is back in town to “cleanse” your souls. Shining bright and hazy like honey and apricots the forbidden fruit will tempt even the most pious to stray. Bring that holy chalice up to your nose and inhale the sweet, intoxicating, holy incense. A miasma of Peach yoghurt and fuzzy peach skin pervades, with hints of banana and vanilla lurking in the shadows. Now for the sacrament, on the tongue classic witbier, all citrus peel, light spice and creamy, full bodied wheat lead into heavenly choirs of more peach yoghurt, vanilla and dried apricots. The final blessing comes in the form of a pithy, mouth-wateringly bitter finish that will leave you possessed and talking in tongues.

Puppet Master ThaIPA

When a collaboration includes a brewery from Thailand, an Aussie bar with a Thai-focused menu, a local brewery prepared to play it loose with written English and the beer is a hoppy one, there was really no way this beer wasn't going to be styled as a ThaIPA, was there? Officially named Puppet Master, the beer is something of a companion piece to a collab released late last year between Sydney’s Stockade and Phuket’s Full Moon Brewworks, only this one adds a third collaborator to the mix in the shape of legendary Melbourne bar Cookie. Using the addition of lemongrass and kaffir lime as a hook, Puppet Master is a suitably citrusy drop, from the lemony aroma through to the palate where its grapefruit character mixes with a herbal spiciness. At just 5.5 percent ABV it’s a little on the light side in terms of IPAs, but you get the impression this is far more about function than it is about pleasing the people putting together style guidelines. On that, it’s the kind of thing that’ll tickle the tastes of those favouring the complementary rather than the contrasting when it comes to beer and food matching; sip one alongside a fresh and zesty Phla kung and your palate will be halfway towards a beach in Phuket.

The 13th Door

We have changed the traditional concept of a barleywine and made our own stamp to create a German Style Barleywine. The 13th Door uses German and English malts for a distinct malty flavor that is one of a kind. The added German noble hops even further distinguish this beer for a complex and malty smooth beer with just a touch of earthiness to finish off the beer. We hope you enjoy.
