Stone Brewing has spent over 20 years pursuing clean, bitter, hop forward beers. It would be passé to suggest this beer is simply another gigantically juicy and extremely complex Stone Double IPA. It’s a middle finger to the haze craze proving that clean, crisp IPA’s can still be smashed full of big, juicy, tropical flavor. It’s also the winner of our 2018 Spotlight Series contest, which pits teams of brewers against each other to see who can brew the best beer. Citrus takes the forefront, with plenty of fruit character to back it up. With incredible mouthfeel from the malted oats, the beer isn’t sweet at all, but its light amber color would make you think it is sweeter than it tastes.

Fresh from the brew house, the Tennent’s Peak Double IPA draws upon the legendary ‘first batch’ of Mount Tennent Pale Ale that bragged flavours too intense and heavy to be classed as a session pale ale. Inspired by those memories and the calls from Canberra beer lovers to bring the beer back, we’ve produced a special small batch for the Canberra Craft Beer and Cider Festival. We’ve used the same hop combination and the same firm, malty backbone. We’ve scaled it up a couple of notches and blown the beer out to be a bolder, stronger, bitterer hop bomb of deliciousness and satisfaction. Much like climbing a mountain, Tennent’s Peak may leave you short of breath at the first step, a bitter taste in your mouth as you progress, but the reward sure is there at the finish.

The third release in our Science is the Art Collection stays with our double IPA theme, but with a twist. We’ve moved away from our house ale yeast in favor of saison’s estery, earthy and spicy notes. We love the way these essential saison characteristics meld with the tropical, fruity, piney and citrusy notes from some of our favorite hops: Mosaic, Equanot, and Simcoe. All of this and some light malts? Blast. Off. Scene Three: The Psychic Laser. The captain is targeted by an unknown force. Is it an attack, or is the psychic laser some strange communion? This is our Eastern Dry Hard Cider - barely-sweet, light and refreshing. It's inspired by the dry ciders from the orchards of the east of England, where the style of cider is traditionally clear, light and almost wine-like. Just like those English ciders, our Eastern Dry is made from a secret blend of dessert apples, but grown and freshly-pressed here in the Empire State to provide a uniquely clean and sharp flavor. Perfect for easy drinking, our Eastern Dry can be enjoyed the whole way through.

This cider is sure to send your taste buds into a tizzy! The cider making process includes fresh blueberries along with a blend of three local apple varities. These berries are broken open during mid fermentation and as expected, tons of flavor and tannins create a perfectly balanced Apple Blueberry Cider.

Citra & Mosaic-hopped Double India Pale Ale (hazy)

This is our new and improved 2nd anniversary beer that is full of Citra, Mosaic, and Amarillo Hops. This one has an aroma that is hard to resist. This New England DIPA is not just a fad, it’s Frickin’ Awesome & Delicious!

Collaboration with Allagash. First blush of summer peaches, preserved lemon and marmalade leads to a verdant, round mouthfeel of kiwi, hay, and barnyard funk. A twinge of tartness dissipates to a bone dry, slightly saline finish reminiscent of brackish water and the bucolic memories of lemons past.

We might be a little fashionably late, but you won't be able to argue with the results of our research and development on this Hazy IPA. This iteration of Hop Delusion is loaded with Mosaic and Simcoe added late in the process to deliver a huge tropical fruit flavor and aroma on top of a soft body with low perceived bitterness. Don't let the smoothness full you. This is one beast of a beer!
