Limber Legs

The Oktoberfest tradition started with the celebration of the marriage of Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig in 1810. A brilliant amber appearance, flavors of toasted malt with hints of caramel and a whisper of noble hops. Prost!

Love Child No. 9

Boulevard's Love Child Series of "wild" ales are barrel-aged with such boisterous cultures as Lactobacillus and Brettanomyces. These wayward offspring can prove so complex that we employ gauges on the label to convey the intensity of three key personality traits, Funk, Sour and Fruit, presenting a picture of the ale at the time it was released. It will change as it ages, but don't we all? The blend for Love Child No. 9 breaks down as follows: Belgian-style Golden Ale ’17 aged in previously used wine barrels – 40% Belgian-style Golden Ale ’16 aged in previously used wine barrels – 5% Flanders-style Red Ale ’16 aged in previously used wine barrels – 25% Flanders-style Red Ale ’17 aged in previously used wine barrels – 15% Belgian-style Golden Ale aged in wine barrels with apricots – 5% Blend of sour ales aged in barrels with tart cherries – 10%

Sick Mustache

We've been working on this for two years along with Backpocket Head Brewer Jake and Goose Island Innovation Brewer Tim Faith. Sick Mustache is inspired by American Flyers with Kevin Costner - our Iowa hero! Sick Mustache started with a traditional Kolsch brewed with German yeast and hops. Simple right? Too simple. Then Tim and Jake decided to give this brew some American flare with a healthy dose of Nugget and Amarillo hops. Done? Nope. Then they turned it into a super-crushable radler by combining it with a Tangerine Soda. The final product is a bright and refreshing radler that holds on to that crisp hopiness while boasting a subtly sweet burst of tangerine.

The Boulevard Radler series is a zesty, refreshing take on the tradition of mixing beer with soda or lemonade to create a light, thirst-quenching beverage ideal for warm weather. Radler (literally, “cyclist” in German) takes its name from active sportsmen of a hundred years ago, but you can enjoy our version even when doing nothing more strenuous than lifting it to your lips.

Endless Enigma

This is our tip of the hat to the hop heads amongst you. Although certainly not as hoppy as a typical west coast IPA, this uses several types of continental hops to give a hop bitterness that is firm but not harsh. It is light amber in color, with the earthy aromas of noble hops predominating. The mouthfeel is refreshing, with lively carbonation and a rich head. The light malt backbone gives a mild sweetness balanced by a healthy dose of European hops.

Persimmon is a native species of fruit bearing tree in North America. Paired with Peach and Pineapple, these fruits come together in wonderful harmony, with each delivering their own wonderful flavors and aromas on a foundation. Oktoberfest

Released each fall starting in 2015, this collaborative seasonal will feature a different German brewery every year. “We’re honored that Brauhaus Riegele, a real cornerstone of German craft brewing, is kicking off this Oktoberfest collaboration with us,” said Ken Grossman, Sierra Nevada’s founder. Family owned like Sierra Nevada, Brauhaus Riegele has brewed excellent craft beers since 1386, and more than 600 years later, its innovation earns accolades including 2015 Craft Brewer of the Year at the Meininger International Craft Beer Awards. Just as Sierra Nevada’s Ken and Brian Grossman lead as a father-son team, Brauhaus Riegele has a father-son duo at the helm. Its 27th generation Master Brewer Dr. Sebastian Priller-Riegele works alongside his son Sebastian Priller-Riegele, a World Champion Beer Sommelier, to brew a lineup of beers that together have earned more than 200 awards and medals stateside and abroad.

Western Standard Saloon Lager

High West might not immediately ring a ton of bells outside the craft-distillery set: It’s a whiskey distillery out of Park City, Utah (the state's oldest legal distillery in the post-Prohibition era). High West's founder recently teamed up with Ballast Point for Western Standard. The barrel-aged lager is in the old-timey, pre-Prohibition style, one that takes the flavor of a nice crisp lager and kicks it up with oak, vanilla, and tobacco notes due to an extended bath in bourbon barrels.

Curmudgeon’s Better Half (2018)

What tames an old ale like Curmudgeon? The tender embrace of oak and sweet maple, that’s what. The result is Curmudgeon’s Better Half, a harmonious matrimony of our deceptively smooth old ale brewed with molasses and time spent aging in bourbon barrels that have previously held maple syrup. Because all counterparts should be sweet, rich and utterly delicious.

A double IPA with a dangerously close to stupid amount of hops and a strength to match. It’s far too easy to drink thanks to all the delicious fruity flavours provided by the Citra and Centennial dry hopping. Amounts of Banana is a To Øl summer release for 2018, a fruit packed version of the original. It’s banana heaven, made for the laziest of summer days.
