Ripened fruit aromas of melon, papaya and citrus climax with an enticing aroma, and set up an invigorating wash of fruity sweetness, grassy bitterness and the slightest touch of tartness. Heavy Weizen explores the inner depths of creativity and craftsmanship, taking a style of ale that is delicate and quaffable and shaping it into something exuberant and sturdy. The foundation of Heavy Weizen begins with prodigious quantities of North American malted barley and wheat. Next, the finest European hops are added to complement this ale’s unique disposition by giving it spicy aromas. Its spirit is forged during fermentation where our Bavarian weizen yeast consumes sugars and creates flavors reminiscent of bananas and cloves. then by aging this ale, we allow the divergent characteristics to blend together, becoming one. To capture Heavy Weizen’s spirit, this wheat ale remains unfiltered to leave some of the yeast in the bottle. Serving this ale with a wedge of lemon is recommended, but optional.

Chewy, full bodied American Barleywine aged 18 months in a spent whiskey barrel. Rich caramel, vanilla, oak and bourbon notes with a smooth, warming finish.

“Hops are bitter weeds of spite, That blunt the sugars, try to bite…” We wanted a beer that was dry and bitter, and that’s what we got. 5.4% abv with all UK grown hedgerow variety hops: Pioneer, Boadicea and Sovereign. No American hops are used in the making of this beer. You know what? If you think you like hoppy beers, this might surprise you. It’s a different kind of bitterness to US hops. These hops are leafy weeds, very bitter and less aromatic. The overall impression left is a slightly-roasty, special bitter with an aggressive and quite “wild” bitterness with a substantial dryness that lends to its drinkability. A pint glass beer, good for dry throats after long days of work.

Wickedly tasty red ale packed with a full aroma from dry hopping and a massive hop flavor. Specially brewed with all European malts and West Coast whole flower hops. The result is a rich ruby red color; lacy collar and a feast of hop aroma and flavor.

The malty big brother of English style Pale Ale, English Special Bitter (and particularly H. & H. ESB) has pronounced malt and caramel flavors, and employs traditional English hops. Named after Third Street Aleworks founders Todd Hedrick and Chris Hagan- who are not (for the record) bitter or English. For those of you unfamiliar with traditional Engish Ales it should be noted that a Bitter of any variety (including ESB) is generally not particularly bitter- especially by West Coast standards. English beer nomenclature is notoriously relative and (in the case of all beers that fall into the “Bitter” category) counter-intuitive.

Burleigh Brewing HEF boasts the classic German wheat beer characteristics of banana and clove, rich flavours, a bright white head and a smooth, creamy texture. It is an unfiltered, refreshing, flavour-filled beer without being overpowering.

Not of this world, but of the underworld, the gates of Hell open before thee. Brewed with equal parts pilsner malt and wheat, our hefeweizen is unfiltered and golden in appearance. The chosen yeast produces unique flavors of banana and clove and leaves it dry and somewhat tart. A low hop bite means its amazingly crushable. This seasonal beer won't be around long so sip it with care while it is amongst us.

Traditionally produced in Southern Germany, this hazy, golden beer is brewed with a unique yeast strain and fermented in our open fermenters to add fruity banana and clove aromas and flavors to its creamy texture.

An extra strength version of our American-style Wheat Beer. “Hefe” means yeast, as this brew is unfiltered, which lends this beer a richer flavor, as well as lots of B-vitamins. “Doppel Weizen” is German for “Double Wheat”. Brewed with 2/3 Wheat Malt and 1/3 Barley Malt and hopped with Chinook and East Kent Goldings hops. Refreshing and easy drinking but deceptively strong. (7.0% alcohol by volume).

We bring you Hefe Endings. Medium in color, light in body, with a nice balance of banana and clove esters.

The HHBC Hefe Weizen. This german-style wheat is unfiltered and light bodied with an amber and cloudy appearance. Look for hints of cloves and banana-like aromas while enjoying this late summer brew. Try it with a slice of lemon or orange.
